Reversinator's pages of talking

Hello to all MarioWiki users! I'm Reversinator, and you presumably came to my talk page to talk to me. So here's the rules you must remember:

  1. Sign all of your comments so I know who left it.
  2. Spelling and grammar are extremely prefered.
  3. No vandalism, no trolling, no spamming, blah blah blah.
  4. I will reply to you on your talk page.
  5. I am fluent in French, English and Portugese, so if you wish to talk to me in any of those languages, feel free to.
  6. Try to be civil, but still have a sense of humor. In other words, no leet, no swearing, no threatning, blah blah blah.
  7. Whenver starting a new conversation, put it under a new header.
  8. My signature is and will always be Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Everybody got that? Good. Now talk to me!

First Header

Sure I can. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 17:26, 12 January 2010 (EST)

Ok, te only ones that need to be removed are the ones that link to unexistant Mainspace pages, AFAIK, because others dont appear in Wanted Pages. WIll remove those in a sec. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 17:51, 12 January 2010 (EST)
>_> ok will rmeove them later. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 18:09, 12 January 2010 (EST)

Re: GCN

Because that's the official name of the article, and Mario Power Tennis (GCN) is a redirect. --Garlic Man (talk)

Yes. Always spell out abbreviations in articles and article titles. Redirects should only exist for the purpose of easier searching, not linking. For example, typing in SMRPG is a much faster way to get to the Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars article than typing out the entire name in the search box. To get rid of a useless redirect, check if there are any pages linking to the redirect. If so, change the links to the full article name. When you create links, you should link to the article's title, not a redirect to that title. When you're done, place a {{Delete}} tag to get rid of that old redirect.--Knife (talk) 19:42, 12 January 2010 (EST)

Yeah, what he said. He explained it much better than I could have... thanks Knife lol. Besides ease of searching, redirects also help for people that are searching something that is commonly refered to as by other names or to lead to sections of larger articles, if they're searching for something too minor to have its own article. --Garlic Man (talk)

Hi, Mario17 keeps adding the fake info on the M&SATOWG stats, what should we do? Purple Koopa Bro. 18:01, 13 January 2010 (EST)

And the only reason I didn't add the template is, on other wikis I've been to, only SySops are aloud to. And I also was so mad, I didn't think of telling some body else, and I told him I am sorry for what I said. Purple Koopa Bro. 18:04, 13 January 2010 (EST)

Okay. Purple Koopa Bro.

Character Interactions

Just so ya know I kinda think this edit on the Plum article should be put in BJAODN, it was made a while ago and I had to revert (for obvious reasons), and I just learned about the BJAODN today so I remembered this edit and I thought it was hysterical!

Princess Peach

Main article: Princess Peach

In Mario Golf, Plum and Peach were partners. She was in the intro along with Mario, Luigi, and Peach. They were shown golfing together. Since Daisy replaced Plum, it is possible Plum had a good relation with Peach just like Daisy does. But Peach is not her mom. Mario

Mario

She has a good relation with Mario, And probably is one of his friends. She might be Mario's relative, or not.

Merging

Thank you for merging the Elevator Key articles during my (unannounced) absence. I wish I could have done myself, but thank you for taking the initiative. Redstar 10:24, 14 January 2010 (EST)

It's been taken care of. Redstar 19:11, 14 January 2010 (EST)

Giant Stuff

Yeah, I support merging all those except for giant versions of characters (aka. Giant ? Block, Giant ! Block, etc...), not stuff like Giant Bowser because he plays an important role.--FREAK ~Game GameBros.png Freak~ OUT!

Eh?

I saw that you put a Warning in some user talk pages, but my question is that you can do it?, I though that it were only for patrollers, sysops, admins...--Mateo (Talk · Contributions) 17:22, 15 January 2010 (EST)

Ok then, I should try that someday.--Mateo (Talk · Contributions) 19:00, 15 January 2010 (EST)

Good Point

That user had a good point. Where do those quotes fro the koopalings actually come from? I don't remember them having those quotes in the game. FD09

Can you get a scan of all of them? FD09

Thanks, I appreciate it. FD09

No wait. These quotes aren't the same quotes at all. I'm removing them if yo can't provide me a real source. FD09 [[1]] That's not the same quote.

Re: Fly Swatter

No problem. It's hard not to get confused by the fact that the WarioWare microgame is named "Mario Paint: Fly Swatter", while the original Mario Paint game isn't even called "Fly Swatter" to begin with. Nintendo should have either left it as "Gnat Attack" for WarioWare or rebranded it as "Fly Swatter" without talking about Mario Paint at all; they have a real problem with logical thinking sometimes... - Walkazo 19:00, 17 January 2010 (EST)

Yes, it is hard to understand something that has not been explained to you. I was under the impression they were the same thing known by different names in different areas, seeing as the games were known by different things in the different localizations. This was largely based on the fact that Fly Swatter links to WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, leading me to believe the entire page was outdated, and not just the link. But, having asked my brother (who has played WWIMM much more recently and extensively than I have), I now know I was mistaken; for that I apologize, but you should have done more than scream "THEY ARE DIFFERENT" after I repeatedly asked for an explanation as to why they were different. If you had simply said WarioWare, Inc.: Minigame Mania has both microgames and minigames which have different functions, either on my talk page or Talk:Mario Paint: Fly Swatter, and ideally on the articles themselves with {{about}}, all the back and forth reverting could have been avoided. In short, we both could have handled this better: I should have done more research, and you should have done more explaining; but the important thing is that the misunderstanding has finally been cleared up. - Walkazo 18:28, 9 February 2010 (EST)
Ugh, that sucks; I hope you feel better soon. - Walkazo 18:45, 9 February 2010 (EST)

Question

I was just getting rid of the double redirects. Why are you undoing them??? MarioKart66! (talk)

Hi, do you want to join a new PipeProject I'm making? Its about The Koopalings. They really should bring them back if you know what I mean. TM Sig.PNG

List of Catch Cards

Thank you for flagging my question on the List of Catch Cards article as an unresolved question. It is nice to see that this Wiki has such a system for questions and that the other members are quick to respond in helping out with it, unlike some other Wikis I know. ^_^

--Cyberweasel89 19:53, 29 January 2010 (EST)

Codec

How about getting serious? Sarcasm is not how you resolve an issue. I thought it made sense to remove such information as it was not related to the game as a whole, it was related to one character. There's a difference between the information on a character's page and information all directed to the same character. If it wasn't for the fact it has to be organised a certain way and was so abundant I would suggest it all go on Snake's page. And according to you, the more information the better, right? FD09

Removing What

I'm not going to be removing good information. I'm removing unrelated information. Also, there's no removing when it's still fully explained on the page where it's actually relevant. It's just reorganizing where the information should be. If Mario does something in a video-game that's relevant to his role in the game that will be covered, but if it's not related to him how is that good information? FD09

So now your vote seems to be the driving opinion in everyone's oppose regardless of the fact that's not what's happening. So why are you opposing then? FD09

Thanks

Had no idea there was a fake or dead link on my talk page.

Redirects

Hi. I know, I am not the person you asked, but I hope you don't mind an answer anyway. If you like, you can tag all redirects for spelling mistakes for deletion. They are not needed (we can trust our visitors to spell properly, I think). - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 18:29, 5 February 2010 (EST)

I will handle them in a second. - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 21:10, 8 February 2010 (EST)
To respond to the truth: The longer the list, the more I can fix. (As long as it doesn't outmatch my capacities, like 3000 entries or such) - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 21:18, 8 February 2010 (EST)

RE:Your New Redirect

OMG! Sorry, I just thought it was necessary because the article didn't come up, but fine. Reshiram.pngSupermariofan14Zekrom.png

Re: Sig

Because we got a policy that says don't use sigs in a lot of pages, and it's just easier to use the "User" template. I don't understand how it's glitchy. Are you talking about the fact that the text after it becomes bold? That's intentional, so I can write post script messages after my sig. Marcelagus (TCE) Kinda like this, you know.

Super Piranha Plant

No, that does not make any sense at all. The Piranha plant in the quicksand in Double Dash cannot be considered heavy either. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:11, 8 February 2010 (EST)

I have no comment on the NSMBW worlds as I haven't played the game myself. As for the move of the "? Block", I'm pretty sure I found an official name in the SMW manual. I will check that later today. After all, "? Block" is a descriptive name that has not been used in any game I remember. This was also my reason for moving "! Block" to Exclamation Mark Block, an official name from the Super Mario World manual. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:20, 8 February 2010 (EST)
No. Any character from the regular Latin alphabet should be allowed as an article name. What shouldn't be in an article name are special symbols like the note symbol, because Note Block caused an irrepairable glitch in the wiki system - ™« Block. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:25, 8 February 2010 (EST)
I'm pretty sure it does. I will check it later. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 09:32, 8 February 2010 (EST)

Vandals

Hello, thanks for reverting that vandalism, I was AFK and couldnt see it sooner. But I please ask you to follow this guideline in MW:TROLLS "If you see continual actions of any of the above, post a message at an online sysop's talk page in calm, non-cap letters" Its perfect to do so in edit summaries, but please use calm, non-cap letters, that way it prevents troll feeding. Thanks! --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 17:58, 10 February 2010 (EST)

Re: Template:Puffs

Wow, that template is really useless. I'll be sure to nuke it when I finish getting rid of the Smithy Gang one. ;) — Stooben Rooben 21:34, 10 February 2010 (EST)

Re: Red Links

I think the red links are appearing because of that DPL function at the top of the page. The only thing we can try is to remove that from Wayoshi's archives. Oh yeah, nice job with removing red links, no one ever bothers to fix those.--Knife (talk) 19:54, 11 February 2010 (EST)

A little advice though: Mark your edits as minor whenever you fix links and do other maintenance stuff. For instance, users may think you left a comment on a talk page when you really just fixed a couple of red links.--Knife (talk) 20:00, 12 February 2010 (EST)

Yes

There is no rule, no rule that says it was allowed. Nothing that says that is a part of the manual of style. Panchito 08:28, 12 February 2010 (EST)

Okay, I'm pretty sure I said that it was not a part of the standard, not that there was a specific rule against it. Panchito 08:33, 12 February 2010 (EST)

Talk:Badge

Is there a reason as to why you keep changing the content of RAP's comment as you did here and here? (You also did the same sort of thing to one of my talk page archives, but Beta Elements is not a red link, which is what's puzzling me here.)--Marcelagus (TCE)

OK, but you should probably change it to [[Paper Mario/Beta Elements|Beta Elements]] rather than actually changing the words in the comment. Also, couldn't you just change the link so it becomes Beta elements so that it's not a redirect? Marcelagus (TCE)

Re: Commander Buzz

There's really no way to tell whether his account has truly been hacked or not. However, if the account continues vandalizing pages, I will have no choice but to block it. If the user is truly innocent, he can contact the staff on forums.--Knife (talk) 21:33, 13 February 2010 (EST)
