So, this page is pointless. Literally every single subject in this article is already covered on an independent page elsewhere; there is nothing in this page that isn't made redundant by the simple existence of another page, and nothing could change that simple fact. The article doesn't cover generic subjects in the slightest, so it certainly cannot be argued on those grounds (and the only generic parrot I could find is the stuffed, non-sentient prop used by Co M.C. in a single Club Mario segment; the suggestion that this alone is enough to support the entire article is asinine). This is even more clear-cut than the deletion of Giraffe, since at least there were generic giraffes to cover. If you need to know about every parrot of note in the franchise, Category:Parrots already exists in a perfectly usable form. At best, this article only exists to pad out the species parameter of pages, and that's not good enough to keep it.

Support[edit]

  1. Time Turner (talk) Per proposal.
  2. 7feetunder (talk) Per proposal.
  3. Niiue (talk) This should really be for the TTYD Parrot, if anything. Per proposal.
  4. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) I created Category:Parrots, and while I'd rather the *'d part of the category not go away, it honestly is a better overview than this.
  5. TheFlameChomp (talk) Every parrot mentioned here is already covered on a separate article. Per all.
  6. Toadette the Achiever (talk) Once again, generic subject with no real value! I would have argued to keep the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door info if it were in this article, but it's not, yet even so this article will probably need to be turned into a disambiguation page due to overlapping subjects (see Sunflower), so per all.
  7. Yoshi the SSM (talk) I think the best course of action is to delete this and maybe move TTYD info here. The talk pages may be conflicting, but why not merge the two with a note. I don't see this becoming a disambrige, unless we don't want TTYD parrot here. And in that case, would it be really needed? Anyways, my vote is Per all.
  8. Mario Kart DS Fan (talk)per the proposal?
  9. Tucayo (talk) - Per proposal.
  10. Super Radio (talk) - per proposal.
  11. LuigiMaster123 (talk) - Per all.

As I mentioned in my vote, would it be better to turn this into a disambig page? We do the same for Bat, Sunflower, and Vampire, to name a few. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 16:55, 27 October 2017 (EDT)

Considering past attempts to clean up overly clogged disambiguation pages, I'd say no. {{Disambig}} even says that it's for pages that "share the same title". The Vampire page is especially terrible: including things like the Kobatto and Tweeter Bat just makes it harder to find the stuff that's actually called "Vampire". Count Zoltan Dracula has a name, nobody would look up "vampire" to get to his page. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 17:08, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
This is a tough one for me. Every instance here has a parrot that is at least somewhat relevant to the game/story, the least relevant ones there are the Mario Party and Paper Mario: TTYD incarnations, which act as simple parrots but still do something. Per Doc below. I'd be for a disambiguation page. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 17:11, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
Turner, remember that people might be trying to look things up they don't know or remember the name of. Kurokyura is a great example, since his name is in another language, but he's clearly a vampire. Admttedly, we also have a Category:Vampires, but those lack the text blurbs the disambig page has. Ease of access is important. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 17:16, 27 October 2017 (EDT)

Welp, there's the parrots in Mario Kart 8's DK Jungle. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 17:42, 27 October 2017 (EDT)

One background element does not substantiate an entire article. Hello, I'm Time Turner. 17:47, 27 October 2017 (EDT)
