Move to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)Edit
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal. |
canceled by proposer
Only the title of the soundtrack has that "(GameCube)" identifier, while the game obviously doesn't. Now, sure, when someone thinks "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)", they'll think of the game itself. However, this is a wiki about official content, and this is the only piece of official content with the title "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)".

Support: MoveEdit
Oppose: Don't moveEdit
- Technetium (talk) This would add unneeded confusion as people searching for "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)" would almost certainly be searching for the game itself. Plus, every other NM playlist uses the Nintendo Music identifier, adding to the confusion. I don't see why the fact the name isn't "official" matters here.
- Mario jc (talk) Even if technically there's nothing else with that title exactly, it can very easily be interpreted as referring to the game itself.
- Jdtendo (talk) This would be needlessly confusing.
- Polley001 (talk) Don't see the point in this.
- Hewer (talk) If we want to be accurate to the official content, the correct title would be "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo GameCube)". But since this is already taken by a logical redirect, we need to add a "(Nintendo Music)" identifier.
- LadySophie17 (talk) Per all. "Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube)" can refer to two things and needs further disambiguation.
- TomLegend101 (talk) What everyone else said. Though tbh the console identifier SHOULD be “(Nintendo GameCube)” instead of “(GameCube)”.
- Wilben (talk) Per all.
- MrHonor (talk) Per all. The two Dr. Mario soundtracks have the "(Nintendo Music)" identifier for the same purpose, to avoid confusion.
- Super Altendo Galaxy 2 (Altendo Switch) (Altendo Music) Per MrHonor. I don't particularly see an issue with multiple identifiers (I don't know if they still work with the pipe trick, though).
- Camwoodstock (talk) Per all, this would just cause senseless confusion.
- Nelsonic (talk) Per all.
Comments (Move to Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (GameCube))Edit
@Technetium Well, the other playlists don't have an identifier next to them.--Martendo (talk) 06:41, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- As near as I can tell, only Special Release: Donkey Kong Bananza does not have the "(Nintendo Music)" identifier, due to the "Special Release" in the name. The other Nintendo Music soundtracks have that identifier. Jdtendo(T|C) 07:06, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- By my comment, I meant that the other soundtracks on the app don't have any identifier, which is why their pages (except Special Release: Donkey Kong Bananza) have the "(Nintendo Music)" identifier.--Martendo (talk) 07:12, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
@Hewer This soundtrack doesn't have a "Nintendo" in its identifier.
— The preceding unsigned comment was added by Martendo (talk).
- Huh, it does in my app. I'm guessing this is a regional difference. Hewer (talk · contributions · edit count) 07:33, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
@Martendo, while poring through the proposal revisions for patrolling's sake, we did see you briefly denoted the proposal as cancelled. Was this on purpose, or did you actually mean to mark it as being eligible for early closure, like it currently is now? As, per Proposal Rule 19, if you did want to cancel it yourself, you're well within the "first four days" cutoff. ~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs ) 12:04, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- Oh, sorry, I didn't know that. Yeah, I did want to cancel it because I changed my mind, everyone that opposed has valid reasons.--Martendo (talk) 12:29, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- If you want to cancel it for real, then go ahead and just do what you did when you cancelled it the first time. You still have until October 11 to do so, in accordance with the rules. Come to think of it, is undoing a proposal cancellation (either by the proposer or another user) allowed, especially without justification? Because I know for sure that undoing vetos isn't... Altendo 13:38, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- Yeah, that... Probably should not have been done, though in this case it at least worked out, as the author originally intended to walk back said cancelation shortly after anyways. We're stuck on mobile right now, so we can't exactly scrutinize the order of events, however. ~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs ) 14:04, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- I didn't undo the cancellation, another user did and marked it as eligible for early closure instead, so I assumed I wasn't allowed to cancel it yet.--Martendo (talk) 14:08, October 7, 2025 (EDT)
- That was me. I was trying to mark it with early closure and somehow it got denoted as cancelled. I then deleted it and tried to put the early closure up. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 19:58, October 7, 2025 (EDT)

Addition of collapsible text for playlists?Edit
So, this page has collapsible text for the soundtrack's "Extended-Playback Collection" playlist, in which the tracks are hidden until revealed by clicking 'show tracks'. I was the one who put it there in the first place, but I was thinking that we could do this for the other soundtrack-specific playlists as well (Top tracks, Battles, Paper World, etc.) to minimize space and general fluff. I previewed this myself with a {br} at the end of each playlist, and it seemed OK, but I want a general opinion on this method. This could also be done for all other soundtracks as well, which could help some articles. This doesn't need to necessarily be applied to "general" playlists (Characters, Match your mood, etc.) since each usually contains less than even 10 tracks. It's worth noting that the initial "List of Super Mario soundtracks on Nintendo Music" from way back when also had collapsible text for the playlists. MrHonor 00:22, October 22, 2025 (EDT)
