Merge to Lava PiranhaEdit

merge 4-1
This enemy is only ever encountered in battle alongside the Lava Piranha, and is in fact attached to it. Lava Buds are merely different heads of the same creature. A rose bush encompasses all the roses, despite them being different stems. It makes no sense to split this enemy, when we already contain similar examples on single articles. Even the official art of the Lava Piranha features Lava Buds alongside them, which suggests they are the same enemy. The difference in name merely suggests a description of development rather than of specieal difference.

Merge to Lava PiranhaEdit

  1. Redstar (talk) - Per proposal.
  2. Zero777 (talk) I am Zero! Tough treated like a seperate being Lava buds are still part of Lava Piranha. Zero signing out.
  3. library_girl (talk) - Redstar's explanation in the comments section makes sense. Per it
  4. Walkazo (talk) - The tattle clearly states that the Lava Buds branch out of the main Lava Piranha stem, meaning they are all part of a single organism and deserve a single page.

Leave un-mergedEdit

  1. Bloc Partier (talk) -- Though it may be an underdeveloped Lava Piranha, it shouldn't be merged. It is a quite different creature at this stage of development, or whatever you wish to call it. Different attacks, appearance, and it cannot talk. Also, if I recall correctly, it can spawn Petit Piranhas, while the mother plant cannot.

CommentsEdit

I recently removed my vote on the Petit Piranha page after careful consideration. I don't know what caused me to think a living being spawned from another living thing is still the original (children aren't their parents, for example). Despite that, I still support the merge of this enemy into the main Lava Piranha page. Same bush, different stem. As for your example of the mother stem being unable to spawn Petit Piranhas, Bloc, I have this for a response: (pardon the analogy, but it's the closest there is to a real-life example) An animal can shoot sperm from their penis, but not any species I know of can do it from their head. Even more specifically, plants are known to have certain parts as the body, and other parts as the sexual reproductive area, in a division far more distant than animal bodies divide their functions. I think the same thing can be held true for this enemy. Redstar 01:08, 19 December 2009 (EST)

Ha. Nice analogy. I definitely see your point, but I guess I'm still voting for the separation since I view it as a separate enemy. BLOC PARTIER.
Earthworms secrete gametes out of their anterior end... Besides that, however, Redstar's got the biology right: same organism, different organs. A better analogy would be Obelia, a genus of animals related to corals and jellyfish that spends most of its life-cycle as a colony of buds, half of which are used for feeding (like Lava Piranha's biting head), half of which are used for reproduction (like the Lava Buds). - Walkazo 00:56, 24 December 2009 (EST)

PictureEdit

Is the picture that we have for this monster its sprite or is it official box art. We usually use the former, but it seems like the latter. If it is box art, can we get a sprite instead? Jdrawer 17:03, 3 February 2012 (EST)

Above, their is a proposal that was made to merge Lava Bud to Lava Piranha on december 2009 and nothing was made to merge it even if the proposal passed. Well, I will recreate it with the same arguments from this proposal. Like Crystal King and Crystal Bit are merge for the moments.

Merge to Lava PiranhaEdit

  1. LudwigVon (talk) - Per proposal.

OpposeEdit

CommentsEdit

I don't think a follow up proposal is necessary in this situation, the previous proposal clearly passed in favor of merge. Unless you think there will be a different outcome this time, I'd say go ahead and perform the merger. -- Ghost Jam  20:40, 7 August 2015 (EDT)

Ok, can you please cancelled the proposal? I don't really know how to do it correctly.-- (TALK) 20:41, 7 August 2015 (EDT)
Done. -- Ghost Jam  20:51, 7 August 2015 (EDT)

Merge back with Lava PiranhaEdit

Merge with Lava Piranha 6-0
The proposal that divided them in the first place is quite old, considering that the Naval Bud and Bungee Buds pages that are used for the comparison still existed. We merged them with their respective bosses.

The Japanese name literally says they are tentacles of Lava Piranha (Faia Pakkun no Shokushu), and its description considers them an extension of Lava Piranha. "This is a Lava Bud. Lava Buds are small flowers branching out from the main stem of the Lava Piranha."

Finally, I know Lava Piranha refers to itself as " we," but this can be interpreted in so many ways that it's not worth considering.

This is just an extension of Lava Piranha's body, no different from King Calamari's tentacles, Blooper's tentacles, or Knucklotec's hands. I'm in favor of splitting minions, not body parts. If we keep this page like this, we'll have to split the other pages to maintain consistency.

Lava Bud out (support)Edit

  1. Sorbetti (talk) Per proposal.
  2. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - I'd be pretty annoyed if my arms were split from me, to be frank. Anyways, we don't split the tentacles of the various Blooper bosses in RPGs (as mentioned in the proposal), or those of the elder Princess Shroob, or Queen Bean's arms, or the Dark Star Core's appendages... also, we recently re-merged Magnus von Grapple and 2.0's rocket punch things, and those technically are separate, to a degree.
  3. Camwoodstock (talk) Makes sense to us. These aren't like the Crystal Bits or any of Culex's gems, where they happen to be their own minions, these are... Basically just some of Lava Piranha's limbs.
  4. PrincessPeachFan (talk): Per all.
  5. EvieMaybe (talk) per all
  6. Blinker (talk) Per all.

Leave Lava Bud inside (oppose)Edit

Alert to drive-by readers: Katunda is Spanish for Knucklotec. Salmancer (talk) 22:44, September 4, 2025 (EDT)

A minor mistake. Thanks for making me realize it.   Sorbetti   (talk) 22:50, September 4, 2025 (EDT)
I was trying to avoid making it look like it was an error on your part. I'm sorry if you felt that way. Salmancer (talk) 23:36, September 13, 2025 (EDT)
No problem, it was just a mistake on my part. After speaking so much Spanish, sometimes you forget to change a few words, especially names.   Sorbetti   (talk) 20:37, September 15, 2025 (EDT)

Checking Lava Piranha's talk page, the decision to split these was split in 2017, on the grounds that Crystal Bits and Petit Piranhas were split and these were treated as separate enemies. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:56, September 5, 2025 (EDT)
