PipeProject:Foreign Media/Drafts/Shibuya Crossing 2019 New Year's animations
The title of this article is conjectural; an official name for the article's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors.
If an acceptable name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.
This page needs Super Mario franchise improvement. Specifically:
- Describe the animations themselves.
- Should this be titled "You Make Shibuya!!! Countdown 2018 → 2019" and cover more of the event instead?
The Shibuya Crossing 2019 New Year's animations refer to a series of videos that were shown on December 31, 2018 at the Shibuya Crossing in the Shibuya district of Tokyo, Japan, in celebration of New Year's Day 2019. The first two videos have visuals based on Super Mario Bros., while the latter two are animated in 3D.
Animations[edit]
"You Make Shibuya!!! Count Down 2018 → 2019"[edit]
A Shiba Inu dog crosses around a city with Super Mario Bros.-styled graphics set in the aforementioned game's ground theme, jumping below ? Blocks to reveal some text, including "You Make" and "Count Down". The "Shibuya" text appears halfway through and rises up from the ground instead. The dog then jumps towards the flagpole and goes towards a stand, resembling the Statue of Hachikō. A stylized logo for the animation appears as the dog crosses the flagpole and an horizontal version appears at the end of the animation. Throughout the animation, sound effects and music from Super Mario Bros. are played, including "Ground BGM" and "Course Clear". The title of this animation is alternatively formatted as "You Make Shibuya!!! Countdown 2018 → 2019" outside of the animation itself.
Safety video[edit]
The title of this section is conjectural; an official name for the section's subject has not been found, so it has been given a fitting title by the editors.

The safety video is a short slideshow played right after "You Make Shibuya!!! Count Down 2018 → 2019", which warns viewers not to smoke, litter, set a fire, drink alcohol, use drones, pushing, hugging, performing on the streets, make dangerous actions or bring dangerous goods, such as bombs. These warnings are accompanied with pixel graphics. The slideshow ends with all warnings and an additional message telling viewers to cooperate by having good manners.
"Thank You 2018!"[edit]
"Happy New Year 2019!"[edit]
Notes[edit]
- On January 3, 2019, Charles Martinet reacted to Twitter user @hinopika's upload of "Thank You 2018!", simply replying "Sweet!" The following day, the latter would praise Martinet's voice acting and state that the New Year's Day event was a special one.[1]
