Support[edit]
- Paper Plumm (talk) Firstly, is Luigi's Mansion detailed? Every aspect of this game is covered thoroughly but in a way that isn't at risk of over explaining. There are relevant images for every single aspect and even colour coded links matching up with the areas for locations. In regard to appearances the article has a long and detailed list discussing its preceding and future references as well as a discussion on manga and potential future movie appearances. In addition, it passes the manual of style with flying colours and has no improvement tags or red links. Its intro paragraph does a solid job at introducing the topic. Speaking from a non-rule standpoint I truly feel this article has gone above and beyond and until I hear your objections, I truly see no reason why this can't rejoin the Featured Article family.
- Killer Moth (talk) Page is very detailed and well written.
- Tails777 (talk) Agreed. Detailed and shows everything that needs to be shown.
- Wonder Time! (talk) Per all.
- Yoshi18 (talk) Per Paper Plumm. Sure, why not?
- Nelsonic (talk) Per all.
- Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) - Wish I was able to get more models other than the Flying Fish, but I think I and the others did well on this one.
- RHG1951 (talk) All of my concerns have been addressed, so I'm now comfortable with giving the article the featured status.
- Carl2321 (talk) Here the creator of the Spanish Mario Wiki (for more details see this wiki Discord), Im surprised that this article wasn’t a good one while MK7 did. Per all.
- YoYo (talk) its definitely a stand-out article on this site.
- Martendo (talk) Per Paper Plumm.
- Camwoodstock (talk) The beast of poor citation for the pre-release and unused content page has been slain. From having its own section in BJAODN to a genuine featured article contender we can actually feel safe supporting... Be careful who you call ugly in middle school, we guess. Per everyone else, now that our bugbear's been taken care of!
- Power Flotzo (talk) Per everyone, this article's quality has definitely improved over the past few weeks.
- Rainbow Road Drifter (talk) [[1]] I made a few changes to this article just now, and now that the issues I found have been resolved, I believe this article can be featured.
Oppose[edit]
#Camwoodstock (talk) We have one thing we'd want to see before we feel comfortable featuring this: fixing the sourcing issues over on the List of Luigi's Mansion pre-release and unused content. That page is quite possibly a warzone for those, and if you could resolve it, it would be genuinely huge. We don't want to feature this article if it's at risk of there having been another "experiment" incident.
Removal of opposes[edit]
Comments[edit]
A bit of a silly question; is it like, overkill if we were to raise concerns about the List of Luigi's Mansion pre-release and unused content page in this? Every other subpage for the game itself, and the page for the game itself, are all up to code at worst and actively show some brilliance not seen elsewhere on the wiki--those color coded links are incredibly smart!--but the pre-release and unused content page has always been notoriously... iffy, mostly on the citation front, and it gives us a bit of pause to support the article itself being featured. ~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs )

- i want to point out, some of those color-coded links are hiding redlinks under them. i do not know enough about luigi's mansion to fix them, but i don't think i'd support a featured article in that state. —

- Thanks for both of your feedback! I want to make sure this article is worth its spot in the Featured Article section so I will gladly get this done. Could I ask for a bit more clarification for what you want citation wise, Camwoodstock? From a cursory glance I couldn’t really find what you’re describing. As for those missing hallways I’ll get right on those! User:Paper Plumm 13:33, April 13th, 2025 (EST)
Reception section should be expanded on. Xiahou Ba(the Nasty Warrior) 00:55, April 11, 2025 (EDT)
- Similar question for you Ray, could you please specify what you would like done? User:Paper Plumm 13:39, April 13th, 2025 (EST)
- I can't elaborate right now but take a look at reception sections for other featured articles, namely Mario Party: Star Rush or Super Mario World.

The Hallway (Luigi's Mansion) article has been created as of today. If someone could work on the other things mentioned in RHG's oppose vote, that would be great. Power Flotzo (talk) 16:34, April 17, 2025 (EDT)
- Yes!After hours of combing through World of Longplays footage to find highly specific frames, making 15 ever so slightly different image templates, and properly adding said images to the article, I did it! The obstacles section now has images! One more grievance pegging this article down and your complaint is invalid RHG1951, mwahahaha! Oh, and I see you've elevated your comment to opposition Camwoodstock, sorry I'm taking so long, I got distracted with all the stuff RHG threw at me, didn't realise I took so long you decide to hold the status hostage! I'll get to it when I'm done with their stuff, and if anyone has any more issues they'd like to add to the pile, do it soon, my sanity is slowly dwindling. If anyone wants to help as well so I don't lose my sanity doing this entirely on my own, that'd be amazing too! Anyways your girl has to do some studying, see ya when the next peg falls! User:Paper Plumm 19:22, April 27th, 2025 (EST).
Hey now, we wouldn't call it hostage. Not a problem if it takes a bit, you've got quite a bit of time before the end of the nomination anyways.~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs )

- Oh yeah, may I implore what is this spectre of an incident you call the "experiment"? User:Paper Plumm 20:14, April 27th, 2025 (EST).
- Some vandal added fake screenshots and those stuck around for months before they removed them out of the blue, with the only clarification being an edit reasoning along the lines of "The experiment is over. Thank you for your participation." Combined with the already poor track record with Luigi's Mansion articles specifically... Yeah. You can see why we're so picky about there being a blatant "please source this?" tag on a page when someone had already pulled that with it.

- I really chose the worst article to try to start off nominating huh? I had no idea I was stepping into a field of land mines of bad issues. This genuinely is like the first big project I’m taking on (ignoring me being poll Chaiperson) here at the wiki. I have no clue what I’m doing I spend like five days writing and planning out these articles, and then somehow I still botch them. At least it isn’t Middle School me levels of bad. Dear stars if you saw the spotlights I worked… User:Paper Plumm 23:45, April 27th, 2025. (EST)
- Hey @Camwoodstock, do you maybe know how the vandal is called and when this happened?
Yoshi18 (talk/contribs) 13:39, April 28, 2025 (EDT)
- You should just be able to go to the history of List of Luigi's Mansion pre-release and unused content and CTRL+F "experiment". We're not dignifying them with the satisfaction of us saying their name. ;P

- Fair enough. They haven't done anything around here or reacted to anything since then. I wonder what happened.

- Unfortunately while I did have time to research the article I didn't really have the time to cite it properly as its the first week I've really had time and other things have taken priority. Anyways, I did a bit of research and have come up with what needs to go with specific sections, the rest of this comment will provide a sort of guide towards the article's citations that someone more versed in citations and with more time can hopefully do (As I really don't have the time anymore and the deadline is coming up fast). Here you go, First off the general statements before the images: The statement regarding blue ghosts (4), Spherical ghosts (7), Missing Other Statements (3), Unused Poltergeist (11), Unseen Lab Names (New Citation 23(Cutting Room Floor Oddities and Oversights (Luigi's Mansion): https://tcrf.net/Luigi%27s_Mansion_(GameCube)/Oddities_and_Oversights#E._Gadd.27s_Lab)). For the audio section I found Cutting Room Floor also has a whole article dedicated to unused audio so make that 24. All of Spaceworld Screenshots come from citation 3's video. E3 is a mess. These screenshots come from all over the place it seems, the three main locations are the trailer, the IGN demo and the E3 tape from 9:50 to 11:30. Hopefully its just these three place but if not, we quite literally have no way of knowing where they are from so I'd recommend either a close substitute from the footage or deleting it outright. Next, the build itself comes from a press CD (New Citation 25: https://archive.org/details/NintendoGameCubePressCDSept2001), the other builds appear to come from IGN images, which is already an external link so I don't know if that needs citing. Scrapped Features either comes from a video by a YouTuber Beta 64 (New Citation 26: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AyDWjVC2zw) starting at around a 47:30 till 52:15 or another video by someone called Zeek (New Citation 27: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-UUhhRF3jE). The models once again come over from the Cutting Room floor's graphics and model pages. (8 & 11) Unused Dialogue Boxes and Text Strings are all from 11. Lastly, the Nintendo Power Scans are cited from, well Nintendo Power, the archive website earlier has archived these as well (New Citation 28 https://archive.org/details/nintendo-power-issue-150-november-2001/mode/2up), oh and the additional image poster comes from this link attatched to the image description (New Citation 29 http://www.freewebs.com/luigisbiggermansion/related.htm). If I missed anything, please let me know and I hope this guide can serve to further this. User:Paper Plumm 19:45, May 11th, 2025 (EST)
- Hey, cut yourself some slack, this is already quite a bit more than this article's seen, quite frankly! The only real thing would be that tracking down the specific IGN pages would be nice, as while those are already in the external links section, it would be nice to have a specific incarnation of the page to point towards; it looks like a good chunk of those external links have changed since the article's inception, so the Wayback Machine is in order.
After that, the main thing we're seeking is for these references to all be put into proper<ref>
tags and cited accordingly; making the citations neat with Template:Cite would be nice, but is absolutely secondary to just getting this information on the page all on there and sorted in the first place. Take your time if you've got a lot on your plate as it is, or heck, if you'd be fine with others adding these, just say so. We might even pitch in a bit if you'd be fine with that, though we can't promise a particularly speedy addition when we've also got our hands full. ;P~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs )

- Oh sorry I guess I phrased it weirdly, I don’t have the time to commit to this fully and by the time I would it would be after the deadline. So yes, by all means, please go ahead and edit the page away! Feel free to use that research guide if you’d like as well! User:Paper Plumm 16:04, May 12, 2025 (EST)
- We'll see what we can do! We can't promise speed, but hopefully at least a extra pair of hands could do something, and we can hopefully at least touch the page before the nomination ends.

- Wahahahahaaaaa, ohohohoho. It looks like the last objection demon has been slayed. I cited every single bit of that article! It looks like we can finally pronounce featured article status and Luigi's Mansion (game) wife and wife. If there's anyone who objects to this marriage please leave it here in the comments and I'll resolve it for you. Please don't make me go through this whole process again by objecting (if any new objections arise, it would be considered too late and it would be unable to acend to feature status, comments however can be dealt with without having to make me do the process again). Anyways, this was a process maybe I'll try suffering through making another ascension possible! What's the consensus on Super Paper Mario? Because that's one I'd love to see happen. User:Paper Plumm 19:34, May 18, 2025 (EST)
Oh, thank goodness. We felt a bit bad because we offered help and was immediately swamped with needing to pitch in elsewhere, and kinda felt bad... Oops.Looks good! The only issue we can think of is that there are some citation tags placed on headers, but this is a pretty easy fix. Retracting our oppose!~Camwoodstock ( talk ☯ contribs )
