File:PeachDaisy MP9.png

Hello. About your reupload, there was no reason to revert such an image because of a "bigger file size". That revision actually had unofficial changes and color adjustments made to it. If you look at the previous revisions, it was continuously reverted because of those unofficial changes. The second revision from the bottom is the official version: it should be reverted back to that one and no further changes should be made.

The resolution is the same on both revisions: the extra file size has little to do with the quality of the image. The only thing which has made that file larger was the redundant color adjustments. Even though her colors may appear to be "more correct", the original palette was the official one, and the fanbase shouldn't adjust that to satisfy what they believe to be more correct. Thanks.

Princess Daisy feature nomination

Peincess Dais will be featured december 2!!!, Thanks for you vote Ashley Ashley anEoTselkie (Talk) File:Ashley WarioWare Touched.png 12:16, 26 November 2013 (EST)

....

Just say princess daisy was in issues 2, 27 and 28.

2 because it says it had super mario land in it. Say, "Daisy could have appeared in issue 2 since it revolved around Super Mario Land, her home game"

27 at the end and 28 at the beginning since they had mario party 3 in it. Say, "Daisy could have possibly appeared at the end of issue 27 and beginning of issue 28 due to her prominent role in mario party 3, which these two issues revolve around."

Just say she possibly could have been in those just so they shut up about having that as a section.

Also, please note that daisy appears in the STREET PASS MII PLAZA where she has a puzzle swap for mario tennis open which she is in!!

thanks for turning the haters into supporters! i would help but i can't. so do this stuff for me please!!

Just saying, but stating she has appeared in it won't make my oppose go away otherwise I would've done it. All I want is her role in the comic then my oppose will go. Yoshi876 (talk)

RE:Daisy's Crown

I just have to finish editing it and then I will upload it to the Wiki. I've been very busy uploading Super Mario 3D World Stamps as well as getting homework done for school. I'll try uploading it right now. There are actually a lot more that are missing from the Wiki, I just haven't had time to upload them all. During Winter Break I'll try to upload the rest. Daisy

To start off, the intro was already rather padded. It had a lot of information that would later be repeated in the article, and deleting bits of it streamlines it more while losing absolutely nothing, since everything that's deleted is already found in a more inclusive section. Also, in my opinion, that quote demonstrates very well Daisy's personality.

The way the clothing/appearance section is written now is god-awful. There's no other way of describing it. As described in MarioWiki:Good writing, the sections are very clearly demonstrating flowery writing, stuff that sounds like it belongs in a novel. Now, that's good for a novel, but we're a wiki. We don't write like a novel. We don't need to specify every single little detail about her attire. Also, I don't really see why saying "sky-blue" instead of "sapphire-blue" is "literally stupid".

I did not revert your reverts simply because I think that articles need to be small. That's something that's not only completely uncalled for, but completely false, and the same applies to you saying that I don't care about the article's quality. The reason that I started the denomination in the first place isn't just so that I can cackle evilly while I ruin the article; I pointed out some noticeable flaws in the article, flaws that other users agreed on. I am bringing attention to the article's problems so that they can be fixed. The things that you reverted were among the problems that I listed. They were changed for a reason, and as it stands, it's better changed than not. Also, it's barely been an hour since the nomination even started. I have homework that I need to do, I have other projects on the wiki that I started beforehand, and I have plenty more on my plate, so please don't immediately jump to the conclusion that I'm some lazy jerk.

I understand that you care a lot about the article, but please, there's really no need to be so aggressive towards me, or anyone. You have to realize that these edits were done in good faith, and there was absolutely no malicious intent with them. Everyone's trying their best to work towards improving the article, and bringing it back to the way it was beforehand is not going to improve anything. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Just to let you know, Baby Luigi replied to your comment on my talk page. If you two would like to discuss together (preferably not on my talk page), that'd be great. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
The Daisy article isn't your personal turf. We make edits we see fit, and the article clearly violates a significant policy and you just don't go around yelling, "YOU'RE DESTROYING THE DAISY ARTICLE" when, as Time Turner said, were just trying to help and actually make an article an objective, straight to the facts reliable source without heavy padding on the shape of Daisy's face. Articles should be the smallest they can because, in information, descriptions of subjects in less words but the same meaning is always better than huge padded articles filled with nothing but fluff and flowerly descriptions. We're not supposed to be a biased source, and the amount of detail paid to a certain character (along with the diction used that's mostly inappropriate for this subject matter coughcoughcontemporary-vernacular-I think of a Shakespeare article when I see that, NOT a fictional character in a cartoon land) is staggering compared to other character articles. You said that, "but oh, Peach and Rosalina does it and Rosalina is featured." I can nominate to unfeature Rosalina any time; guidelines and standards change over time and our standard is to be a non-biased, straight-to-the-point and clear as possible without resorting to padding out the article on wasteful descriptions. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 14:33, 10 March 2014 (EDT)
That was an exaggeration but my point still stands as you clearly said we're "butchering" and "destroying" her article, which is a wrong attitude to have around here, because this site is free to edit with any person any time, technically, especially when standards and policies change. I don't think the unfeature person has anything against the subject content, because he realized the content of the article sucked, while very possibly over-looking other flaws other featured articles have.
You still have this "assume bad faith" attitude and it's nonconstructive to the upkeep of the wiki to keep thinking users deliberately want to ruin articles unless obviously otherwise. It's true that you did left some of my edits in, it's certainly an improvement over your initial reaction to what I did to the article. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 17:36, 10 March 2014 (EDT)

Mario Golf: World Tour Characters

Hi. You've probably noticed our different opinions on the character section of Mario Golf: World Tour. "Yards" is fine as "yards", it was just how I put it. Abbreviated versions of words aren't really a good idea, like putting ❤️ Instead of "Star". And why did you make Bowser and Bowser Jr. red and black? And since when do the colours of the clubs change? They all have 2 colours. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:19, 28 May 2014 (EDT)

And what the heck is a light straight against a normal straight? They're all straight! Plus that Wario sprite is 100% sprite.
When I said the ❤️ thing, I was just telling you for future reference. I don't get your "Light Straight" or "Heavy Staight". What do they mean? And honestly, the Bowser's have never been represented by black. Look at their standard karts in Mario Kart, they're a greenish yellow. And I didn't notice if I changed 0.05 to 0.5 or something, so sorry. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:32, 28 May 2014 (EDT)
Actually, you're light thing doesn't make sense. In golf, a low ball isn't called "heavy" or etc. and the trajectory is which direction the ball goes, not the height. That's a different subject. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:36, 28 May 2014 (EDT)
Bowsers colours aren't there to represent his emblem, it's to represent him. And because in games like MKWii and Tennis Open his colours are both yellow and green. Therefore, a greenish yellow or vice versatile is better. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:39, 28 May 2014 (EDT)
You not making sense. Daisy wouldn't be yellow anyway, her sig colour for everything is orange, and since when are Diddy and Donkey represented with red? Because of their clothing? If this was a Mario Party game, it would be fine, but it's Mario Golf. If we're gonna end up arguing over this, use the base colour in the clubs, which, for example, Daisy's club is orange. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:52, 28 May 2014 (EDT)

Ok, your "Heavy" shot thing is a completely unofficial term used neither by golf pros or Nintendo, so it needs to go. What I'm saying with the colours is that we should base it on their clubs, as this is a Mario Golf game, not Mario Party. All your arguments have been related with that series. And if we're basing on the clubs, which do represent their colour, than Daisy would be orange, her clubs aren't yellow. Same goes with Wario and Waluigi, their stick on their club is yellow and purple. If we're going to keep arguing about it, it's going back to grey. I don't exactly like people arguing on a table that I put there myself. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 02:07, 28 May 2014 (EDT)

RE:User Edit-Warring

I apologize if what I have said on Ninelevendo's page is not your desired result, in my opinion there isn't enough reverting for it to classify as an edit war. I have notified him to take the discussion to the talkpage and that there will be no further changes to the colour chart until it has been cleared up. And like I told him, if necessary have a TPP, but try to generate discussion with other users beforehand. Yoshi876 (talk)

Sorry

You know what, I've sounded like a real jerk when trying to resolve the Mario Golf World Tour issues. I get that you might think my reasoning is stupid, but at the end of the day, we're both users that just want to make the Wiki the bet it can be. So sorry if I hurt your feelings in any way or kind, it isn't what I wanted to do. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 03:08, 28 May 2014 (EDT)

RE: Toadstool Tour Character Box

Hi again, the reason for removing the numbers on the Character Infobox is because it shouldn't need to be partially explained on every characters article, it should only need one page to distinguish that, not multiple pages that don't can actually still seem confusing for readers. The reason for the height, in Mario Golf: Advance Tour, if you connect your game to Toadstool Tour, you can change clubs that you got from the latter game. When changing clubs, it shows you the height of the character. For example, Peach's height would actually be 10 out of 21, not 3. Therfore, until we can work out every characters actual height without confusing it with something else, they need to be "High" for the time being. If you don't agree with anything, just tell me. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 00:54, 8 June 2014 (EDT)

Here, I'll show you some images. Just give me a little while. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:11, 8 June 2014 (EDT)
OK, so when you change clubs in Advance Tour,

Peach's Stats in Mario Golf: Advance Tour This comes up. When you connect to Toadstool Tour, you gain the ability to change clubs that you received from Advance Tour. When changing clubs on Toadstool Tour, the exact same thing comes up. This only happens when changing clubs, and provides exact info on the height, making it out of 21, just like the other stats. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:20, 8 June 2014 (EDT)

You don't get it. We're exchanging CLUBS onto Toadstool Tour that ANY character can use, and it shows their stats in the same manor on TOADSTOOL TOUR. Do you get it yet? - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:34, 8 June 2014 (EDT)
Nah, your not missing anything, they might of actually changed it in that game. But we need to use the stat system that it shows in Toadstool Tour, so, until then, we need to put it as "High" and etc., otherwise it would be technically incorrect. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:39, 8 June 2014 (EDT)
The Shot comes up the same way, so it would be "+5 Fade" Instead of Fade, but then again, we don't know every character on Toadstool yet File:DKStatsAT.jpg Unfortunatly, I don't know what they are on Toadstool, as I don't actually own Advance Tour, I just have an Emulator for it. Maybe if I use cheats on Toadstool on WhineCube, I'll be able to work out the stats. Until then, we should keep it correct. Thanks for understanding :D Now, I think we need to talk about that infobox now though. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 01:54, 8 June 2014 (EDT)

Character episode pages

Great initiative, but looking at the Lemmy pages, I feel like it's a bit of a waste to make a whole subpage when there's only a couple appearances (going by the same logic that we don't make subpages when there's only two glitches in a game and whatnot). I also wonder if it'd be more advantageous to make pages for the DIC cartoons overall, rather than splitting them by specific series, but maybe not (it'd let us use shorter names at any rate: those cartoon titles sure are mouthfuls, lol). - Walkazo 02:19, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

A new template as in {{Appeared}} or a nav template for the episode subpages? I don't think a new nav template would be necessary: just add new lines in the current cartoon templates for the episodes (it's okay if multiple templates link to the same page, and if the page has multiple cartoons' nav templates on it) As for Tem:Appeared, it's a simple modification to allow link-piping, and then maybe make an overall series page for the three cartoons to pipe-link to (since the closest we have right now to an umbrella page is DIC Entertainment afaik). - Walkazo 02:32, 9 June 2014 (EDT)
Yep, sounds good. Maybe take the opportunity to change it to "Hip" at the same time, too (see my proposal comment, although I don't feel terribly strongly about it either way, so feel free to wait for additional opinions before changing that part of it). - Walkazo 02:46, 9 June 2014 (EDT)
I changed Tem:Appeared so that it can say a name other than the pagename for the character. The series part will need more messing around with, and unfortunately I have to head off now, but maybe another admin/user can help you out on that one. - Walkazo 03:10, 9 June 2014 (EDT)

¡Ganaste una Maxiestrella! PHOENIX (talkedits) 06:33, 14 June 2014 (EDT)

I know I'm not involved in this conversation, but i'd like to point out Walkazo's suggestion was to make an umbrella page for the three DIC-produced shows (a suggestion I agree with and don't think needs any admin approval) and not actually *merge* the show pages, which would be a terrible idea

(of course if you didn't mean to use "merge" in the "squish all pages together" sense, then disregard this message). --Glowsquid (talk) 12:28, 18 June 2014 (EDT)

I've had the misfortunate of landing in a full-time job recently, but I'll try my best For the moment, what I see a DiC cartoon page including:

  • Description of the shows
  • Description of the weird spinoffs (Club Mario, King Koopa Kool cartoon, etc)
  • Character section describing how they're portrayed in the shows.

I recommend looking at current series page for inspiration. And if you ever get around doing a draft, shoot me a PM on the forum/e-mail me/create an user subpage and I'll be glad to comment. If you have any more specific questions, I'll be glad to answer them. --Glowsquid (talk) 23:12, 23 June 2014 (EDT)

Hmmm, I don't wanna "snipe" edit and since you were the one to bring it up, I was wondering if you started working on this? If you'd like me to, I can post a "skeleton" of the hypothetical page some times during the weekend. --Glowsquid (talk) 11:41, 30 June 2014 (EDT)

Trophy appearance

That doesn't change the fact that there are several examples of us doing that sort of thing, both past and present (and more than likely more than I have listed there).

I also disagree with one of your previous edits; I fail to see how the trophy appearances are "jumbled" when there are literally three paragraphs describing her trophy and sticker appearances in each game, and we don't need to divide it into sections when the only thing they say is that in addition to "oh yeah daisy's colors are also a costume" three times, which is completely unnecessary and can be summed up in one sentence. I also fail to see how I "misdescribed" Peach's Melee costume.

-Toa 95 (talk)

I'm pretty sure the Trophies and Stickers are obtained like most of any others, which I don't feel is particularly worth mentioning.

I also mentioned the hair and crown in the context of the alternate color throughout the series rather than just the first game, since as you should no doubt know her hair and crown are recolored in every installment alongside the dress; the only thing I really got wrong was the slight changes to the crown alongside the dress in Melee, which I didn't mention at that point in the sentence. I could also argue that keeping the sections seems gaudy, since they mention the same thing three times. I could also argue that listing off what the trophy describes is unnecessary; if you want to see that, then go look up the list of trophies and Ctrl + F to find it. Finally, the goal wasn't to remove information; it was to present it in a more concise manner and cut out anything unnecessary.

-Toa 95 (talk)

Again, if you want to see the actual information on the trophies, look it up on the bios section or look up the list of trophies and Ctrl + F. Otherwise, all we really need is what the trophy is; we don't give a concise version of her bios from other games in other sections, what makes this so special?

And five words mentioning two specific things that are changed is hardly a massive amount of detail; I also mentioned that her dress in Melee is also altered to more resemble Daisy's (I have also seen that the crown changes but is anyone perfect?).

-Toa 95 (talk)

"The only information mentioned about the trophies is what the trophy is, not what pose she's in, what she's doing, or a bunch of what the trophy states."

Describing most of that would be completely unnecessary, and, once again, if you want to see what the trophy says and the exact direction her left eye is looking, then you can look that up; that's what the Internet's for.

And I meant the crown was different in that it was part of the "floral design" in Melee.

Daisy's voice

Hello there. I would like to kindly ask you to not to undo my edits for Daisy's page , when it comes to her voice actress.

During the first Mario Party 3 to 5 Daisy was indeed voiced by Jen Taylor , the difference is that Jen sounded higher pitched in MP3 and then she lowered her voice in 4 and 5 , it's not an uncredited voice actress.

Proof:

Mario Party 3 Daisy :

Now here's the same clips with a lower pitch :

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1Qr2q2vK6HZ

And here's MP4 Daisy :

Conclusion , it's the same voice just pitched down. You can easily tell when Daisy says Oh , i lost and Yah , Daisy is the Winner

Removal of info

I'm assuming you're referring to my revision in the Sales Bunny article? In that case, the Sales Bunny is not a Mario character. The same reason we don't cover other Nintendo-themed attractions and details of them in Nintendo Land is because they don't relate to the Mario series. The aforementioned game I've removed (Real Escape Game x Nintendo 3DS: Escape from the Plan of Mega Destruction) isn't a Mario game. It's fine to mention his role in nonMario games in a small blurb, but it doesn't warrant its own section in the History section. The reason I leave the other games because they at least have Mario-related significant objects in them (StreetPass having Mario-themed puzzles and costumes, while Nintendo Badge Arcade has Mario-themed badge catcher machines). I don't think Real Escape Game x Nintendo 3DS: Escape from the Plan of Mega Destruction has any major Mario-themed elements unless I'm mistaken, and if I am, feel free to add it back. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 16:09, 1 December 2015 (EST)

MarioWiki:Coverage. Though I feel like it doesn't deserve a specific mention, because the Sales Bunny is not a Mario character; he's as related to Mario as Miis and Nikki are. It's like creating an article for Nikki from Swapnote and covering all of her appearances, even if said appearances are not in Mario games. Same deal with Miis. RE:Daisy's Amount of Appearances

Alright, let's break this down one by one:

  1. "arguments about how we don't say something like this for other characters as a defense against the information. But you can't apply this statement to other characters"
That specific information, sure. But if we keep listing the amount of appearances every character has and then say "aside from this other character", the information will go on forever on every character's page and would make it strenuous, excessive, and even more unnecessary.
  2. "Daisy appearing in so many video-games, especially with so many playable appearances, and being a female character, is the kind of thing they put in the Guinness world record books."
Daisy's pretty common in the spin-off titles, it'd be more noteworthy if she was seen outside of a standard Nintendo game, like Mario, Luigi, and Peach. And is there actually anything in the Guinness books about Daisy? If so, then it might be noteworthy to add. Peach is a noteworthy female character that has appeared in several games because of her role. Daisy's role is supportive, at one point even acting as the game's Peach.
  3. "They may have even done so for Peach already if I recall."
That's Peach. This is Daisy. Comparing the amount of games Daisy is in to Peach's amount of appearances is unnecessary, especially when Daisy has such a meager amount comparatively.

I like Daisy, I really do, but I find adding this information pointless. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:55, 22 March 2018 (EDT)

Also, don't keep readding the information back, as that would be edit warring. Instead, if you really feel like this information should stay, a discussion should take place on her talk page to see who agrees and disagrees. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 14:58, 22 March 2018 (EDT)
