I think Dark Bones may actually be a good guy sense he says he doen't want Mario to disturb her sleep. If he was on her side he would let him so she would rise again.-Pal101
Or maybe he works with Grodus and tried to stall Mario. Great Gonzo
Or maybe he didn't want Mario to screw up the revival process by waking the Shadow Queen prematurely, thus leaving her less powerful. -- Son of Suns
He's bad; he fights Mario. If he was good, he'd transport Mario out.
Sounds logical. I guess he could be a good guy, fighting Mario because the two don't understand eachother's intentions. Kinda like Meta Knight, I suppose. General Guy 10:48, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
My idea is that he is one of the members of the village that the Shadow Queen attacked, and he has dedicated himself to ensuring she doesn't get revived.  Of course, it's all speculation, isn't it?  I'm just thinking that, you know how the Red Bones was once a Koopa who was wronged against, why not this guy? 14:03, 1 December 2007 (EST)

Disclaimer: I am not a translator, so I would like to be confirmed on my work (See this document ).
According to this article, Dark Bones' Japanese name in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is "ブラックカロン" (Burakku Karon), meaning "Black Dry Bones". It checks out from the footage I could find.
I also found a different Japanese name for the Dark Bones in Mario Super Sluggers in a video (see above) and transcribed "ブラッディカロン" (Buraddi Karon), which means "Bloody Dry Bones". Strange as that is, the Japanese version of Mario Superstar Baseball names this character simply "Dry Bones", and the English version calls it "Red Dry Bones".
It's clear that the Paper Mario Dark Bones and the Super Sluggers Dark Bones were not intended to be the same character; the matching English localizations are merely a coincidence. It goes without saying that the two are quite distinct from each other visually. Therefore I propose that the Mario Baseball info be cut from this page and placed into Dry Bones' Mario Baseball section. His other color variants (Green, Blue) should also be given more information in that section.
Alternatively, we could split this article into two: one for Paper Mario info and the other for Mario Baseball. However, creating an article for a color variant seems unwarranted to me, considering Dry Bones' other colors don't have their own dedicated pages due to a lack of substantial info for each. That seems to be the precedent set by similar cases (Pianta, Noki, Kritter, etc.)
P.S. The Minecraft Super Mario Mash-up information will remain on the Paper Mario page either way.

One thing I'd like to point out is "Bloody Karon" is similar to "Bloody Hone Noko," ie Red Bones. I wouldn't call it an appearance of Red Bones itself, though it might work as a trivia-type detail. note[edit]

Shouldn't be of some note that Kolorados dads skeleton looks like a dark bones User:Pal101

They don't really look that similar. -- Sir Grodus

Looks more like the skeleton of a.... Koopa.

Move Mario Baseball info to Dry Bones 8-0-0
Disclaimer: I am not a translator, so I would like to be confirmed on my work (See this document [1]).
