There was a recently passed proposal for this.

Category pages[edit]
Please remember to add any relevant categories to category pages as well, like this.

Also, avoid immediately making a category page as soon as there's one article for it (unless you or others plan to expand the category with additional articles in the near future), as game-specific categories require a minimum of four entries to be created.

"Originating"[edit]
Hey, for the "originating" music, I find this a bit misleading. I think rearrangements should be counted in the category too, just as redirect links. For example, Bowser's Airship Aloft is a redirect categorized with Color Splash music. This just makes more sense to me because it fits all the game's tracks in one category. Scrooge200 (talk)

Redirect categories[edit]
If the category already applies to the target page, there's no need to add it to a redirect.

Diddy Kong Pilot (2003) characters category[edit]
I removed "Category:Diddy Kong Pilot (2003) characters" from the character pages, because our Mariowiki category does not covers their pre-release and unused appearances. Windy (talk) 03:03, January 17, 2026 (EST)
RE: Orbulon[edit]
Yes, the section name is intentional. As far as I can tell, the characters there are meant to be from Orbulon's language, which thus has no known translation.

[edit]
Regarding the addition of Scribes links to navboxes, I and other users have concerns, so I figured I should leave a message here explaining why those have been removed. We don't add links to blogs or websites that only collect or present information on games, unless they are a website dedicated for the game. This is why we don't have links to Wario's Warehouse in every game mentioned by it, and that should apply to Scribes as well. Perhaps a little less relevant but we also don't have links to the Mario Portal for every game navbox in its timeline section either. On that note, links to Ask Uncle Tusk are also being removed for the same reason. — Lady Sophie_17

- I have since discovered this is a much, much more widespread issue than I anticipated and I don't have time to accurately deal with this. While I don't think general Q&A blogs and reports like Ask Dan, The Dan Report, Dan's Reports from E3, Show Report (also by Dan), Howard Lincoln Answers Your Questions (not by Dan) should stay, I will leave them for now simply because of the scale of the change. — Lady Sophie_17

@LadySophie17 As the author of those pages, just to confirm; what exactly is to happen to them? The majority of them only took a few minutes, but Tusk and Scribes both took multiple hours to compile, hence me asking.

- My concern isn't with the pages themselves, I don't think they should be deleted or anything. I just don't think they should stay in the navbox for games mentioned in them. — Lady Sophie_17

@LadySophie17 That does make sense, but it also raises the question of why exactly do these pages have those navboxes in the first place? My logic for these additions (And many others, I do apologize), was that if a page has a navbox, than it should be on that navbox. I can't imagine anyone reading the pages for these incredibly obscure Q&As and specifically wanting to read more about stuff relating to Mario Kart 64 or any other games mentioned in these. I'm okay with these links being removed, but if we're going to do that, than I think it's for the best the navboxes themselves also be removed from the pages.
