Removal of info[edit]

Hi, sorry to bother you, but your recent upload of Tennis Daisy 64 artwork is not an official Nintendo artwork, it's actually from Vinfreild, go to deviantart and you'll see this artwork in their page. As such this artwork is considered fan artwork, which is against rules in this wiki, no matter how close the artwork is to the original, thanks. Edit: Oops! Forgot my name:--CastleResearch (talk) 14:47, 6 February 2016 (EST)

I had no clue it would matter that much. I guess I will have to contact Nintendo for the actual originals. Darn. Dolphin.pngMarino13 21:30, 6 February 2016 (EST)

Aboutfile reminder[edit]

Hello, Marino13. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, please remember to format your preloaded aboutfile templates properly. When you upload a file, you will see that template. Fill out the appropriate sections, delete unused ones, and remember to categorize your images according to game (in Mario Party images, add Category:Mario Party Images to the end). You can delete the aboutfile altogether, but I recommend you learn how it works. It's not convenient for others to fix it for you whenever you upload images. BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 13:10, 7 February 2016 (EST)

Okay, thank you Baby Luigi, I'll remember next time. Dolphin.pngMarino13 13:13, 7 February 2016 (EST)
Just another reminder. I found you not filling out aboutfile with File:SM64 Mario Head.png and File:Mario64pointing.png. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:54, 28 March 2016 (EDT)

Compress PNGs[edit]

PNG Monster reduces file sizes of PNGs. Just giving you a useful tip. ;) --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 23:56, 14 February 2016 (EST)

Don't remove others users comments[edit]

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that you can't remove others users comments. You can read Super Mario Wiki's courtesy policy to better understand this. The only comments you are allowed to remove are flames and acts of vandalism.--LudwigVon Sig.png(TALK) 22:08, 21 April 2016 (EDT)

 • Flames? What are those? Dolphin.pngMarino13 22:23, 21 April 2016 (EDT)
Flaming is strong language including swearing, personal attacks, spamming etc. Fawful's Minion 22:29, 21 April 2016 (EDT)
Okay, thanks for the notice. Dolphin.pngMarino13 22:33, 21 April 2016 (EDT)

Missing Categories[edit]

Please stop forgetting to insert game image categories to new image uploads on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Make sure you add the game image category the image belongs to (such as Category:Donkey Kong Country Images or Category:Donkey Kong 64 Images). They are inserted using [[]]. If you are unsure of the category name, use the search bar to the left and type in Category: and then type in the game title. It's case-sensitive or else red link. Otherwise blue link. I mention this because L151 (talk) and I just got done editing several images missing such categories. You can see on Porplemontage (talk)'s user talk archive pages. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:55, 12 May 2016 (EDT)

Is it that important? Dolphin.pngMarino13 19:20, 12 May 2016 (EDT)
Not sure but it does help identify accidental duplicated files and helps us find images to satisfy articles/sections needing an image without needing to upload. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 22:41, 12 May 2016 (EDT)
Now I understand. I do hate seeing duplicates of the same image on here too. More than happy to help. Dolphin.pngMarino13 00:42, 13 May 2016 (EDT)

Hello, Marino13. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

You did it again for Super Mario Bros. (film) images you just uploaded. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 01:28, 2 December 2016 (EST)

I'm gonna pretend I didn't see this. I already read it the first time. Dolphin.pngMarino13 12:16, 3 December 2016 (EST)
Um, different template (aboutfile-reminder and imagecategory-reminder). Don't ignore because you could be in-line for a warning if you forget to categorize appropriately, worse than the first reminder. It's policy. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 18:29, 3 December 2016 (EST)

That's called a signature, the page I linked to has all the information you need to make one. All I do is just take the head icon HUD from Mario Kart 8 and shrink it to an appropriate size like, say, 10px () BabyLuigiFire.png Ray Trace(T|C) 03:00, 28 May 2016 (EDT)

Okay, thanks Baby Luigi. Appreciate it Dolphin.pngMarino13 03:39, 28 May 2016 (EDT)

Re:Your Images[edit]

Nice uploads. I like a lot of them. Like this one, Mario for president. Really, nice finds on the N64-related image uploads, where N64-style renders aren't readily available nowadays. Hopefully, you'll find that one picture from Mario Party 3 where Mario and Wario are chasing after a chicken and Wario is pushing Mario away... could've sworn that render existed, but it's such a long time. Heck, I don't even remember if it's actually a picture or some weird composite art, but oh well. P.S. I freaking love Mario. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 23:30, 29 June 2016 (EDT)

Somewhere in the Internet space they are floating. Nintendo may have made more N64 Mario images than the average user can find. Thanks for the comments. And great to know you love the Italian plumber. Dolphin.pngMarino13 01:59, 2 July 2016 (EDT)

Future of Toadsworth[edit]

I've noticed that Toadworth has not been in very many games since the start of the 2010s. Has Nintendo found very limited use for the character these days? I mean, games like Mario Party 10, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympic Games, even recent releases like Mario Party Star Rush, have no sign of the elderly Toad, almost as if he has "met his passing". Dolphin.pngMarino13 04:08, 16 October 2016 (EDT)

The file, formerly titled File:MarioPropella.png is now File:NSMBW Propeller Mario.png. It is used on your main page. Have a good one. Empty Block Wynn Liaw - 03:28, Jan 19, 2020

Do not just copy/paste the information straight from Wikipedia with the Mario info added instead of writing in your own words. This was very clear with the red links. I'll let you off with just an informal reminder but a formal one may be issued if this happens again. Samus costume, in Super Mario Maker. Mario JC 23:05, September 24, 2021 (EDT)

Then explain why Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor Joy, Charlie Day, and Jack Black's pages look like they were copied and pasted from Wikipedia? Also, I was contributing to Seth and Keegan because nobody did anything for them.Dolphin.pngMarino13 04:55, September 27, 2021 (EDT)
"Looks like" doesn't mean it "was". It's information taken from sources including Wikipedia and summarised into different words for brief context on the actors, not to mention we're both encyclopedias and follow the same writing style. They don't have to be created at this moment; someone will come along to create it eventually. Samus costume, in Super Mario Maker. Mario JC 07:17, September 27, 2021 (EDT)
Anywho, all good now, the pages got created and are here to stay. Dolphin.pngMarino13 04:54, October 16, 2021 (EDT)

It still puzzles my mind that this is an issue when we are merely a month away from the movie’s release. Typing it all in from scratch can be time consuming, no wonder users copy and paste the info from Wikipedia articles.🤦♂️ Dolphin.pngMarino13 21:29, March 18, 2023 (EDT)

Page disputes[edit]

Several things: don't threaten to"report" people for undoing your edits, general rule.[1] Seeing your edits undone can be frustrating but don't take it personally. Assume good faith. Hash things out on the talk page (preferably without the paasive-aggressive tonenl of "since you won't read the talk page; people can easily miss the discussion, just assume this and notify them) It wasn't even Sdman123 who undid that edit you threatened to "report", check the page history.[2] Second, you and the user you're disputing with (Sdman123) edited the wrong page, my user page. I'm also noticing a recent pattern of visible frustration and possible discourtesy on your end as well, such as for this edit dispute but also when you responded to Mariojc's edits[3] with a questionable retort AND made an additional edit to the userpage that really shouldn't have been made if you're familiar with policy, and trying to swipe on Sdman123 during your misdirected comment.[4] So, relax, take it easy, collaborate assuming good faith with users, and review our Wiki's policies. Thank you! Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 11:06, March 9, 2023 (EST)

I’m really sorry about this. I was just looking for a way to solve this matter, because I found the idea of separating a particular set of scans nonsense. If there’s anyway to fix that gallery by making it make sense with the scans, that what the twitter link was for. Also, unlike Sdman213, I respond to my talk pages when users like yourself add a topic on here. It seems like a lot of users on the wiki are irritated by Sdman’s actions, which they never respond to. I never, ever ignore them.Dolphin.pngMarino13 11:17, March 9, 2023 (EST)
Even with this comment, you're still accusing Sdman123 of being ignorant; he said on my talk page he never intended to cause any trouble. Just because a lot of the messages in his talk page don't have responses, doesn't necessarily mean he completely ignores them (several users here even respond in the other user's talk page instead of their own). I also don't recall seeing anyone else implying they were irritated by him. Badmouthing other users like this is definitely not tolerated here. Bowser Swallow Rindo Kanade 11:40, March 9, 2023 (EST)
No matter, I am trying to improve a page, and make it better for other readers. If I see a mistake, I fix it. The Super Mario Bros. Movie Gallery needs a lot of work, and there’s a label above a set of scans that I feel misleads readers into thinking they’re not what they’re intended to be. And as a result, I created a talk page to better dispute the matter. I hope someone (maybe some admins) can figure out what to do here. Dolphin.pngMarino13 11:45, March 9, 2023 (EST)
As of today, the issue regarding the Mario Movie gallery has been resolved. I had an admin involved and he was able to rectify the issue after a review. Also, today is Mar10 Day, so now we can all chill and celebrate the day that is all about Mario.Dolphin.pngMarino13 13:24, March 10, 2023 (EST)

Race to the Finish[edit]

Do you think they will ever have Race to the Finish in a Smash Bros. Game again? Sure it’s not the coolest feature in a video game, but it was fun to try out in the first 2 games. I hope they will reconsider bringing it back one day, the nostalgia is there, I’m kinda surprised Smash for Switch hasn’t even considered reincorporating it for the 20th anniversary of the OG Super Smash Bros. Only time will tell I guess. Here’s to hoping Race to the finish returns, updated and modernized for newer generations!

"To each their own"[edit]

Just curious, was your edit summary here supposed to refer to me saying Dream Team is my favorite Mario & Luigi game or the word change you did? Bowser Swallow Rindo Kanade 19:38, April 4, 2023 (EDT)

I was referring to the word change, because you can go either way with a sentence. Honestly, I leave it up to the reader. Dolphin.pngMarino13 19:54, April 4, 2023 (EDT)

Some of the edit summaries you've been leaving recently, mainly these directed at Sdman213 - especially this one, where you went out of your way to make a snide remark when he wasn't even involved - as well as others I've noticed, are discourteous and unnecessary. There's no need to be disrespectful to other editors or to keep making comments about what Sdman213 wrote on his user page. Please refrain from leaving these types of messages. I would also strongly suggest reading MarioWiki:Courtesy. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 12:12, May 10, 2023 (EDT)

My apologies. I just don’t like it when my edits are being "targeted" like they are an abomination, and he happened to get on my nerves. I also don’t like it when some users are silenced when they have an opinion about a subject. Regardless, I assure you it won’t happen again. End of story. Dolphin.pngMarino13 17:57, May 10, 2023 (EDT)
I would suggest you also stop calling out Sdman123 for not responding to talk posts, users are not obliged to respond to every single post. Bowser Swallow Rindo Kanade 20:23, May 10, 2023 (EDT)
Go to his talk page, and take a look at which users he "chooses" to respond to. I’ve had enough of this. FYI If you sent me a message and I ignored your message, I think you’d be upset. Dolphin.pngMarino13 21:21, May 10, 2023 (EDT)
Honestly, I think you're taking that way too personally. It's a fairly normal thing on the internet to not get responses from messages, especially on social media websites. It has happened to me a lot in the past but now I just accept it. It doesn't necessarily mean you're being completely ignored, the person could still read your message and not feel the need to reply to it or not be able to think of what to say. Not to mention you're far from the only one who doesn't have a response on that talk page so he's not really singling you out. Bowser Swallow Rindo Kanade 21:44, May 10, 2023 (EDT)
As an admin who's also discussing about this with others, I will point again to my advice from this discussion regarding Sdman213 a few months back. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 22:25, May 10, 2023 (EDT)
