Censorship

Hello, please do not censor words on the wiki. We're an encyclopedia, and we present what was written in the source exactly as it says (and removing the word entirely makes it unclear to readers). Mario JC 07:48, September 18, 2023 (EDT)

Duplicate image

Hi! Sorry to bug you, but the file you just uploaded (File:Mr. Game & Watch SSB4 Artwork.png) is already on the wiki as File:G&WSSB4.png. I'm not sure why the latter image wasn't in Mr. Game & Watch's Gallery section... I hope that you don't mind that I'm marking the file for deletion because of this. Moving files

After renaming a file, please make sure you update its name on any pages using the file (listed under "File usage" at the bottom of the file page). If you simply move a file without updating any other pages, it will be reverted. Mario JC 23:29, August 20, 2025 (EDT)

Votes

When you vote on a proposal, you are supposed to put in a reason for your vote, even if you are the proposer (like this ongoing proposal). Rule 6 specifically notes this, and neither of the two proposals that planned to validate blank votes were successful, so the current rules mandates a reason for voting. You can put in "per" or "per proposal" if you don't want to further explain your vote outside of the proposal (which I can see you already did here), but you cannot vote without any reason at all. Also, I just noticed you updated the background of your talk page. Please do not choose a color that makes it difficult to read text on light mode. I don't exactly know how the light mode and dark mode classes work yet, but I recommend you try to figure that out, choose a color that makes the text easy to read on both modes, or if you cannot, remove the background altogether. You didn't change the color of the background, you only changed it for Dark Mode, which was already fine before you changed it, but the unchanged Light Mode background still makes the text difficult to read to the point that I cannot even see Sparks' signature. Altendo 08:55, August 30, 2025 (EDT)

Warnings for old signatures

Hi! Recently you've been giving out warnings to old users who haven't the wiki in over a decade, like Pichi-Hime6 and GamingGal9. Your edits were reverted because there isn't a point to send warnings to inactive users. Infoboxes

Since when was it not ok to use smash art in infoboxes? I mean, look at the articles for PAC-MAN, Mega Man, Samus, Link, Kirby, Fox, and Mr. Game & Watch. If this was a problem, bureacrats and admins like Mario jc, RHG1951, LadySophie17, and Technetium wouldn't allow it. There's also nothing in the guidelines that disallows it.-- Pizza Master 16:15, September 7, 2025 (EDT)

I think the problem was more that you deleted this template, and also, it's ok to use ssb4 artwork in the infoboxes, just not ssbu art. Plus, the community agrees with my revert, as a patroller clicked the thank button on my edit. COLIN WAS HEREedit a page! 18:02, September 8, 2025 (EDT)

why were we pinged for this For characters that are actually a part of the Mario franchise, we try to avoid using Smash renders. Mr. Game & Watch is kind of a weird exception, seeing as he TECHNICALLY debuted in Smash, but has since become far more general than just being a fighter in Smash Bros. Hi again! Your signature violates a rule of MarioWiki:Signatures. Part of rule 7 states:

One or two small images may be used, both limited to 35 pixels in height. One animated GIF may be used instead of two static images, although it is strongly discouraged. If any of the images are found to be too distracting, you will be asked to remove them.

Your signature uses both a static image and an animated gif. Up to two static images or one animated gif is allowed in a signature, so please remove one of the images and you'll follow the policy! Sparks (talk) 18:21, September 8, 2025 (EDT)

Votes on proposals

You shouldn't vote for every option. If you want to take back a vote, you can just remove it. You only really need to strike it out if someone responds to it, and if you do, you should strike out the name and number too. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:21, September 12, 2025 (EDT)

I see you've created a new status page! Be sure to put it on multiple pages though, because right now you only have it on your userpage, which violates one of the rules of the userspace policy:

• A status page (Like the archive template, this should only be made if it's meant to be used on multiple pages; if it's only going to go on the user page or the user talk page, just build the message into the page itself.)

Please put your status template on your talk page and everything will be fixed. If you only want it only your userpage, then you can just put all of the coding there, as there wouldn't be a need for a status page. Thanks! Sparks (talk) 20:17, September 14, 2025 (EDT)

New articles
