Opening Statement

Hello, 'Shroom readers! This month, there's an election on!

-Specifically, this month is the Poll Chairperson Election! The person who is elected becomes the chairperson of the Poll Committee for the following year, with all the responsibilities that entails. So if you're interested in doing that, head right over to the election and sign up!

Section of the Month

Hello, 'Shroom readers! Superchao here with last month's Section of the Month results! A low section count for the Main Team makes this rather easy to tabulate... in second was Paper Yoshi's Mario Calender, covering all the various released Mario games from May.

The 'Shroom Spotlight

Shroom Spotlight Lakitu.png

Hey there 'Shroom fans, ready for another edition of Spotlight? No? Well too bad because here it is.

Last month's golf themes had an uneven scorecard, birdies were scored with Toad Highlands and Elf's Short Course, thanks to Ninelevendo (talk); whilst a par was scored on Rough, which received some nice images. Unfortunately bogeys were scored on our other focuses, which received little to no input.

Our focuses this month are as follows:

Poll Chairperson Election

Sunday, 23 May 2010, a proposal concerning several changes in our current Main Page was accepted by the community and passed. This proposal can be viewed here.

One point this proposal addressed was the creation of a Poll committee, a selected group of users to create and select polls to feature on the Main Page. The members of this committee are meant to be selected by a person in charge of the committee, the Poll Committee Chairperson, who shall be elected by the community. The fifth annual Poll Committee Chairperson Election is taking place here.

Fake News

Editorial

Welcome to a very special issue of Fake News. Not the Special Issue, but a special issue nonetheless. Every issue is special to me. Which, in turn, makes none of them special. Except the Special Issues. I have some business to take care of this month.

Firstly, I'd like to thank Yoshi876 (talk) for compiling the Fake News sections and writing the Editorial last month, because I've been really busy with exams and whatnot, so that was really helpful.

Fun Stuff

Director's Notes (Super Mario Bros. (talk))

Hello everybody! Welcome back for a June 2014 Fun Stuff. I would like to welcome Mario7 (talk) as our new Picross writer! We look forward to working with him and presenting his sections each month.

I would like to congratulate YoshiToad04 (talk) for winning the Fun Stuff Section of the Month for May 2014! His Guess That Game! won 33 votes (51.56%). Guess Who?, written by KP (talk), came in a close second place, with 31 votes (48.44%). Both sections were outstanding, so I would like to thank their authors, respectively.

Palette Swap

Director's Notes (FunkyK38 (talk))

Greetings, everyone! We’re so happy to have you here reading Palette Swap! As usual, we are in need of writers, so if you’d like to write for us, send me a PM on the forums so we can work something out! You don’t even have to write something every month. If you’re as bad a procrastinator as I am, or if you don’t think you can write a section every month, we can definitely work something out for you. Give it a shot! Onwards to the art!

Pipe Plaza

Co-Director's Notes (Yoshi876 (talk))

Hello readers. Not much to announce other than Driftmaster130 (talk) is currently on hiatus so Community Report will not be featured in the paper for a bit. It’s predicted that it should be back for the August issue so if anyone wants to write it as a guest section next month, feel free to volunteer.

Critic Corner

Director's Notes Palkia47 (talk)

I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO EVER PUT IN THESE ANYMORE

But howdys and welcome to the June issue of Critic Corner, hoorah! I hope you enjoy what we have got for you today. (:

Also, a heads up that there was no Section of the Month awarded for last month since there was only one section, and that was M4E’s review on Hannibal, sooo… I will rightfully crown M4E as king of Critic Corner. GOODNIGHT EVERYBODY.

Brawl Tactics

FunkyK38

What's up, Brawlers! By now I'm sure most of you have heard about all of the new additions to SSB4. I know I have, and let me tell you, I wasn't expecting Pacman to be on the roster!

I digress, however.

Before I begin this month's issue, I have an announcement to make. As you all know, my compatriot Timmy left the column last month, and I'll definitely miss working with him. After he left, I talked with my editor overlords of the 'Shroom, and we've decided that this is the last issue of Brawl Tactics that will be published in the 'Shroom. It's been such a pleasure writing for you all, but since the new games will be coming out soon, Brawl will cease to be the most relevant topic to discuss, and this column will as well.

Closing Statement

Hello, 'Shroom readers! Bit of a slow issue, this month. But that's okay, because next month is our July special issue! Special Issue 88 is going to have something of a Mario Kart 8 theme, and will feature several special sections. It should be quite interesting to read!

And don't forget about the Poll Chairperson Election! Anyone can run, so if you feel you have what it takes then go for it!
