Talk:Music to Pound the Ground to: Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack
Requesting Title Change to "Yoshi Story Original Soundtrack"[edit]
"Yoshi Story Original Soundtrack" is the exact transliteration of the Japanese title. As there is no English title for this album, would it not be appropriate to use the nearest translation, which would be the transliteration?
"Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack" is an unofficial translation. It has no legitimacy.

Actually, I changed my mind. Requesting title change to "Yoshi's Story (music)"[edit]
I'll expand this article to include the American, European, and Japanese releases of the Yoshi's Story music.
Note that none of these releases are named "Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack".

Can we have all the soundtrack names redirect to this article?

Split Yoshi's Story albums into three separate articles[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
split 7-0
This article is currently comprised of three separate soundtrack albums: Music to Pound the Ground to: Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack, Love, Peace & Happiness: The Original Yoshi's Story Soundtrack, and Yoshi Story Original Soundtrack. These three albums are all distinct from one another: all three include different songs and all three were released at different times. The only common factor is that the songs all originate from Yoshi's Story. There are many examples of soundtrack albums from the same game having separate articles: (The links without articles are currently listed separately in the Albums navbox)
- Super Mario Bros. - Super Mario Bros. Original Soundtrack, Game Sound Museum: Super Mario Bros.
- Donkey Kong Country - DK Jamz, Super Donkey Kong Game Music CD Jungle Fantasy
- Mario Kart 64 - Mario Kart 64 Original Soundtrack, Mario Kart 64 Race Tracks, Mario Kart 64: Greatest Hits Soundtrack
- Diddy Kong Racing - Diddy Kong Racing Original Soundtrack, Diddy Kong Racing Soundtrack CD
- Donkey Kong 64 - Donkey Kong 64 Official Soundtrack , Da Banana Bunch: The Original Donkey Kong 64 Soundtrack
- Super Mario Odyssey - Super Mario Odyssey Original Soundtrack, Super Mario Odyssey Sound Selection
- Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle - Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Original Game Soundtrack), Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle: The Official Soundtrack
- Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope - Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (Original Game Soundtrack), Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope – Post-Launch Compilation (Original Game Soundtrack)
The three Yoshi's Story albums in this article are no different from these examples, especially considering that all three albums have distinct tracklists. Like the examples above, these three albums should be split into separate articles.

Support[edit]
- ToxicOJ (talk) Per proposal. Following a split, The three articles would be titled Music to Pound the Ground to: Yoshi's Story Game Soundtrack, Love, Peace & Happiness: The Original Yoshi's Story Soundtrack, and Yoshi Story Original Soundtrack. The current article title (Yoshi's Story (music)) would be deleted.
- RHG1951 (talk) Makes sense to make this consistent with the other instances of games with multiple soundtrack releases.
- Technetium (talk) Per proposal.
- Waluigi Time (talk) Per all.
- Camwoodstock (talk) This feels like one of those things that only happened because of some random decision back in the early days of the wiki that nobody's caught yet... And, well, looking at the article history, that's exactly what happened--the only reason they're all merged like this is because the article originally just listed every song in-game back in 2006. This is definitely way overdue for a split more consistent with how we handle these articles nowadays!
- Hewer (talk) Per all.
