Should we marge this with Shy Guy? This is so small, and not really page-worthy. :/ Binarystep (talk) 21:57, 23 March 2013 (EDT) :I agree. LBsig.png LB (talkeditsforum) 22:00, 23 March 2013 (EDT) They're different enemies, though, and I think when you toss them, they let out a heart. Normal Shy Guys don't do that. Plus, Grand Goomba is split from Goomba. Mario Green.pngKaBoom! 22:22, 23 March 2013 (EDT)

But Grand Goombas appeared in multiple games. Binarystep (talk) 00:09, 24 March 2013 (EDT)

May i add that giant shyguys also appeared in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! on the Sherbert Land course. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

Also on Mario Kart Wii's DK Summit. - Cubeguy2ver.pngCubeguy(talk)

You guys aren't merging this without creating a proposal first. GreenDisaster (talk) 11:23, 24 March 2013 (EDT)

Concerning Shy Guys in Mario Kart games, those aren't Giant Shy Guys. They're Shy Guys out of proportion, much as how Goombas in Mario Kart 7's Mushroom Gorge aren't really Giant Goombas (even if the article lists them as Giant Goombas). Mario Green.pngKaBoom! 18:40, 24 March 2013 (EDT)

Merge Giant Shy Guy with Shy Guy?[edit]

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

do not merge 1-10
Giant Shy Guys only appeared in one game. Besides, the article doesn't have an official name, and it's really short.

  1. Binarystep (talk) Per my proposal.

  1. Marshal Dan Troop (talk) It's bigger then a regular shy guy, it does different things, and it has a unique role. All of these things say that it is in fact a sub species and I see no reason to merge it with Shy Guy because it is not the same thing and no being small is not imo a valid reason to merge something.
  2. LeftyGreenMario (talk) Giant Ninji isn't merged with Ninji, nor is Grand Goomba merged with Goomba. Why? Because they're different enemies and they have different functions. If you're going to merge Giant Shy Guy, you might as well attempt to merge Giant Ninji as well.
  3. Tails777 (talk) We have articles for bigger versions of enemies, this is no different and should stay separate. So per all.
  4. BowserJunior (talk) Per all
  5. Goomba (talk) Per all.
  6. Cubeguy (talk) Per all.
  7. SuperYoshiBros (talk) No way. It's a different enemy. Besides, we don't merge Grand Goomba and Micro-Goomba into Goomba just because they're a different size.
  8. King Pikante (talk) Per all.
  9. ThePremiumYoshi (talk) - Per all.
  10. Kamek the magikoopa (talk) - Per all.

Binarystep (talk) @LGM We SHOULD merge Giant Ninji with Ninji! Also, Grand Goomba appeared in multiple games and has an official name.

No, we shouldn't. What if Giant Ninji spontaneously appears in another game and gets an official name? Those two reasons you listed aren't enough to warrant a merge between Giant Ninji and Ninji. The main reason the two enemies are split is that they're still different enemies. Mario Green.pngKaBoom! 19:31, 27 March 2013 (EDT)
If it did, we'd unmerge. Niiue - Who has lost his tail?
Even though my statement was hypothetical, I'm trying to make a point: just because we don't have an official name and it didn't appear in multiple games doesn't mean the article should be merged. See, you confirmed my point. We shouldn't merge articles on two minor things. Besides, we can have short articles in the wiki. There's a difference between a short article and an impoverished stub. Just because it's short and seemingly insignificant doesn't mean it should merge. Mario Green.pngKaBoom! 23:48, 27 March 2013 (EDT)

Giant Shy Guy and Mega Guy[edit]

Can someone check the Japanese guides to be certain that it has the same Japanese name? It seems more like the Mega Kantera case from a while ago. The ones from Super Mario Advances have no differences from the normal Shy Guy besides the size, while the ones from Yoshi's New Island have drastic differences and have a significant purpose. They seem to be intended to be a new enemy. Does anyone own a Super Mario Advance Japanese guide to check out wether it is Mega Heyho, or it has another name? --Toasty.jpg FanOfYoshi NSMB - Splunkin Model.png 12:55, 25 February 2019 (EST)

Also, the Super Mario Kun scan seems to say "Deka Heyho", rather than "Mega Heyho". While i agree that we don't split big enemies with different names, it seems to be more like the Mega Kantera rather than being the same enemy. --Toasty.jpg FanOfYoshi NSMB - Splunkin Model.png 14:09, March 12, 2019 (EDT)
Furthermore, the new mechanics really seem to make the Mega Guy a new enemy. Do any Super Mario Advance Japanese guide say anything about them? If they are called "Mega Heyho" or something else. They really seem to be different enemies. --Toasty.jpg FanOfYoshi NSMB - Splunkin Model.png 08:00, March 21, 2019 (EDT)
It's fine. It's a generic permutation, and "big" enemies have changed their names many times, and not always to meet standards. Look at Big Boo for the (pardon) biggest example. Even if the YNI thing wasn't specifically a reference to the SMA enemy, it's still a generic permutation. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:59, March 21, 2019 (EDT)
This situation is probably much more closer to Ice Snifit than Big Boo if anything... --Toasty.jpg FanOfYoshi NSMB - Splunkin Model.png 02:57, March 23, 2019 (EDT)
Not really. Ice Snifits didn't look the same as each other. These do. Because it's a generic permutation. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 03:05, March 23, 2019 (EDT)
