The Anniversary Tour was a tour of Mario Kart Tour. It originally occurred from September 20, 2023 through October 3, 2023 as the game's hundred-and-fifth tour and final original tour, being rerun in the subsequent years.
This tour celebrated the game's fourth anniversary, while the rerun celebrated its fifth anniversary, and so on; like the previous Anniversary Tour, it did not include the number of elapsed years in its name. This was the final tour in Mario Kart Tour to introduce new content to the game, excluding the tie-in event with Mario Kart World during the 2025 rerun of the Sunshine Tour; all other tours following it recycle content from previous tours, starting with the Battle Tour beginning on October 4, 2023. It was announced in an in-game news post titled "About Upcoming Scheduled Tours" on September 11, 2023, much earlier than usual for tours.
This tour also introduced the third routes for Athens Dash, Rome Avanti, and Madrid Drive, as well as the R/T variants for Berlin Byways 3 and Sydney Sprint 3. In addition to the new courses, Gold Mario debuted as a fully playable character after having appeared exclusively in the Coin Rush mode since the beginning of the game, and the Gold Mario Cup also debuted as the final new cup for the game. The final wave of Mii Racing Suits, Wave 41, which only consists of the Koopa Clown Mii Racing Suit, was also released.
The tour's course selection consisted of the third routes of every city course in the game (with the exception of Los Angeles Laps, which used Los Angeles Laps 2, the third route of that course to be added to the game), as well as both New York Minute B and Paris Promenade B, making this the first tour since the previous Anniversary Tour to consist entirely of new courses and the first tour overall since Battle Mode's introduction to not feature a classic battle course.
This tour's Coin Rush course was Tokyo Blur 3, which was reused from the Summer Festival Tour. The menu's background featured the Parthenon and the Athena statue as the landmark for this tour, which was reused from the Spring Tour.
This was the last tour to feature the fourteenth set of Expert Challenges, which first appeared in the Night Tour. This was also the first and only tour to not have any drivers, karts, or gliders in the Spotlight Shop just for the second week of the tour.
In addition to 5th Anniversary badges, the rerun also added additional rewards and spotlight shop items, specifically ones that were not otherwise available in the reruns of other tours. The Red Standard 8 and the Green Standard 8 were added to the rewards, the latter being exclusive to Gold Pass, after having last been available as part of paid banners in the 2022 Mario vs. Luigi Tour. Baby Rosalina (Detective) and the Soaring Jack were also added to the Spotlight Shop, the former last being available in the Metropolitan Tour, while the latter was last available in the 1st Anniversary Tour.
The second rerun of this tour added the 6th Anniversary badges.
With the game discontinued following its conclusion on September 30, 2026, the third and final rerun featured a trailer that removed the Tour & Ranked Cup Schedule, like the third rerun of Sundae Tour.[1] This rerun added the 7th Anniversary badges and used a unique loading screen consisting of the original key art with an added "Thanks for playing!" message, and it served as the hundred-and-eighty-third and final tour.
