Clusters are floating enemies with crystal shells that appear in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake, and can be found in the Mole Mines. Clusters are named after star clusters, which is also the source for Star Cruster's name. A stronger variant known as the Pulsar appears in later areas.

Battle

Clusters are always seen in battle with other monsters, and have a high resistance to jump attacks. A Cluster attacks by "shattering" its outer shell into fragments, revealing a small smiling creature; the crystal pieces immediately cover them back up before the foe attacks. The Cluster can also use the Crystal spell as well as Psyche, a special attack which causes it to self-destruct and instantly down a party member, unless the move is blocked or else nullified by an accessory. The Cluster's Thought Peek text alludes to its Psyche ability.
