So, are these things alive? Binks 22:33, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

They're animate. — Stooben Rooben 22:41, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Are the Thwomp versions officially named Tox Boxes? If so, no problem. If not, we may want to consider splitting the article into a new page, even if it has a conjectural name. -- Son of Suns (talk) P.S. "Thwomp Box"...perhaps?

Thwomp versions? The Super Mario Galaxy Boxes are the same as the SM64 boxes. Just updated to have a more distinct look. I don't have sources for that statement though. GG445 Me! "...?" heiho! 17:24, 6 January 2013 (EST)

"Their name may be intended to sound like 'Toy Box'"? What significance does this "trivia" entry have? I know people commonly mistake "Tox Box" for "Toy Box" upon first reading it, but if these things are toy boxes, they belong in Yume Nikki or some other surreal game of the sort. This item of trivia has no support or relevance to me, so should it be removed? User:8BrickMario

Potential replacement?

I'm not actually suggesting a split, but isn't the SMG one a replacement of the original one? Yes, i know that some returning enemies are off-model, but the two don't even look similar. Well, for the Bomp, it is not drastic either, as the Throwback Galaxy uses it as the Pushy Walls. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 12:28, 28 February 2019 (EST)

The design was replaced, but I'm not sure what that has to do with the trivia previously suggesting that the enemy itself was replaced. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:13, 28 February 2019 (EST)
Regarding the Bomp, it does look similar, and like i said, the Throwback Galaxy (which is based on Bob Omb Battlefield) used them as the Pushy Walls, so they can stay merged. (perhaps asking to Nintendo would settle thing, but i think it is a dumb idea) --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 13:23, 28 February 2019 (EST)
What do the Prima guides say about them? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 13:31, 28 February 2019 (EST)
They are called Tox Boxes in the SMG2 Prima guide. TheDarkStar (talk) 13:33, 28 February 2019 (EST)
Also called Tox Boxes on the SMG collector's card for them. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 14:03, 28 February 2019 (EST)
As the SMG and SMG2 Tox Boxes are called Tox Boxes they are definitely the same enemies as the Tox Boxes in SM64, they just got redesigned. (Them having different names in different game sections in the Super Mario Bros. Hyakka: Nintendo Kōshiki Guidebook is most likely an error due to their different designs, as the Tox Boxes in both games act the same).
