Ruins Rumble is a 1-vs.-Rivals minigame featured in Mario Party 9. This minigame acts as the opposite of Mob Sleds, where the team players control sleds while the solo player evades the team players.

Introduction[edit]

An overhead shot of the entire field shows the solo player's machine warming up.

Gameplay[edit]

The solo player attempts to eliminate all the other players and the Dry Bones by hitting them, while the rivals try to avoid the solo player for 30 seconds. The solo player moves more quickly than everyone else, so the rivals must continue turning to attempt to avoid the solo player. When a player is eliminated, that player is knocked off the field onto the side. When this minigame is played with three players, there are more obstacles and Dry Bones. If the solo player hits all the rivals and Dry Bones within 30 seconds, the solo player is victorious. If at least one rival and/or Dry Bones survive(s) for the entire 30 seconds, the rivals are victorious.

In-game text[edit]

  • Rules"The solo player must try to smash into the other players including Dry Bones by chasing them around the course. The solo player wins by taking down all of the other players."
  • Controls (Solo)"Hold the Wii Remote sideways. Tilt the Wii Remote in the direction you want to steer your vehicle."
  • Controls (Team)"Hold the Wii Remote sideways. Press +Control Pad to move."
