Piranha Patch is a Free-for-All minigame featured in Mario Party 9. Its name is possibly a pun on the phrase "pumpkin patch."
Introduction[edit]
A single flower bud blooms into a pink flower. The camera then zooms out to show the entire field.
Gameplay[edit]
Players try to earn points by collecting flowers while avoiding Piranha Plants. Buds appear before they become flowers. Gold flowers are worth three points and are much rarer than pink flowers, which are worth one point each. Hitting a Piranha Plant makes players lose a point. Piranha Plants, pink flowers, and gold flowers all grow from the same bud, so players will have to be careful.
