Club Nintendo comics

Hello, Time Q. First, I have to say you that your work on the Club Nintendo comics is excellent, keep it up! :-) But I also have to ask something: I clearly remember that you uploaded images for some comics, like "Mario will hoch hinaus" and "Wart steht unter Strom", in the last days. Thanks, too! :-) Did you also know that there is another German Mario comic printed in a children's book? The book is called "Super Mario Bros.: Spiele und Geschichten" ("games and stories") and the comic in it is named "Die Mario Bros. im Zirkus" ("in circus"), also three text stories with pictures are included. The content is mostly based on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!. Hyperlinks

In my Mario Party DS articles the resaon I didn't add hyperlinks were because I was on holia in SWpai, and I was on a Spanish computer. They have the buttons that make the hyperlinks, but I don't know how to put them on, so the only way to do it was copy and paste, and I really didn't have time because it is 1 euro for 10 minutes! That's awesome. I have no favorite album, but some songs are AWESOME. Knights of Cydonia, Newborn, Sing for Absolution... All incredible. along with lots of others, I just listed off the first one that came to my head. :P BLOC PARTIER.

Yeah, Kid A is one of their more... extreme albums. Probably their weirdest as well. I'd reccommend their new one: In Rainbows. The Bends is also very good, although you won't get the full expirience if you just get that one, as it's one of their oldest. So In Rainbows would be the best for now. If you like it, then listen to Kid A or Amnesiac. :P BLOC PARTIER.

Well, some of Radiohead's first albums were somewhat like Coldplay. But no longer. And Muse is totally seperate from both of them. But... I never heard Showbiz. Was that anything like anyone else? BLOC PARTIER.

Actually, "Showbiz" is considered to be the most Radiohead-ish Muse album. I can't evaluate this of course ;) So, if you think Muse don't sound like Radiohead at all, give "Showbiz" a listen. Maybe it proves you wrong :P Time Questions 14:29, 3 February 2008 (EST)

Hyper Chondriac Music

Alright, so the first time I listened to Hyper Chondriac Music (by Muse on Hullabaloo Soundtrack), I recognized the lyrics. But I can't find them in any other song! So I decided to ask MarioWiki's resident Muse expert. :P But really, do some of the lyrics from that song appear in another song by them? Particularly the "you wanted more... Than I could give..." part... BLOC PARTIER. Thanks!

You're right, that page is full of nonsense and flaming. Considering this, I think we can delete it. And red links aren't really a problem, in my opinion. Hey, Time. I plan on making a proposal to change (or hopefully repeal) the Featured Article Voting Proposal by Stumpers. I know that you dislike the system, as there are many faults, and was wondering if I could use your help in my proposal. Just wondering if I could add your name to the proposal. And your arguments are fantastic. :D BLOC PARTIER.

Thanks! I also thought about making such a proposal, and I think we could win. Many people who supported Stumpers' proposal probably thought "Hey, remove useless votes, that sounds good, so let's support". I don't think that these users would oppose our proposal. Not to mention those users who just read the proposal description and don't care about what is brought up in the comments (I don't blame them). There's also Cobold, who hasn't voted on Stumpers' proposal, but seems to be against the new system. So, uhm, let's do that. Just to make sure I got you right: You want to make the proposal, and you want me to look over it, right? And, basically, you want to repeal the proposal, so that everything will be as it was before? OK, here's my plan for the proposal. There may be some major fallacies involved, but they can convince people. :S

Repeal "Featured Article Voting Modification"

I'll just cut to the chase here: I propose we repeal this proposal.

Now, this proposal was accepted very well. Many people thought that it would be the best option available for the wiki. It seemed so at the time. However, there are many faults in this system:

• As per this comment, the votes can be removed as soon as three users call for the deletion of a vote. This can mean a five-minute discussion and then a deletion of any vote.
• The original proposal said:

  ONLY FAN VOTES WITHOUT FURTHER REASONING [...] CAN BE REMOVED!

  Now look at one of the support votes for Paper Mario: "Awsome!" It is obvious that it is a vote without further reasoning. It is anything but obvious, however, that it is a fan vote, because it possibly refers to the quality of the article. So, can this vote be removed or not? Pointless discussions could evolve around issues like this.
• Flame wars could be a big factor in this system. If a (*ahem* volatile) user opposes a vote of another easily distressed user, it could be a long and bad flame war, and would probably draw other users in. This would cause tension and distrust between the users and may lead to other problems.
• Anyone who opposes a removal does not need to give a reason. Take the comments of this page for example. Time Q is able to just oppose the removal and is not forced to give his thoughts on why it should stay.
• It's a useless system. One single oppose vote can cancel out an infinite number of support votes. Which gives us the question: Why do we need this system in the first place? Also, only five support votes are necessary to Feature an article with no opposes. So, most of the time, there are already enough legit votes to feature an article even if all the fan votes are removed.

To cut a long story short, the new system tries to regulate things ("useless" support votes) that don't need to be regulated (because support votes don't really matter). There is no need whatsoever to regulate support votes. If the rules were simple and clear, we could accept them (even though they would still be rather useless), but they pose several problems, as pointed out above. There was one good thing about this proposal, however. This was the following portion:

[...]OPPOSE VOTES THAT ARE NOT CLARIFIED CAN BE REMOVED[...]

This was the one good thing because it allowed users to get rid of oppose votes that were impossible to appease or unneeded to the article. I also propose that, after repealing the current system, that we restore this option for users. The restoration would come with some differences from the original proposal, however: Five users, including a sysop, must vote to remove the vote, and each remover must have a valid reason for the removal.

You now have our opinions. Users of the MarioWiki, you must now vote on what you think is best. Take your time, review our points, and make sure that you make the best decision possible.

OK, so that's it. I may have contradicted myself, but I hope not. Also, please embellish it with whatever you think is best. I am not sure that we should add the sysop voting part, but it might be good, and so that everyone knows the decision is final. And did you like my conclusion? :P

You can either add the edited version of the proposal to my talk page or yours. Yours gets less traffic, so it may be best. But yeah, I hope this goes through, ;) BLOC PARTIER.

All in all, this one looks pretty good, thanks for your work. I think we should leave out the second point though: Stumpers' point was that users cannot team up to remove any vote. He said that only fan votes can be removed. The vote must actually be invalid. However, we can actually turn this into one of our arguments. So I replaced the second point with what I think is more appropriate. Also, I'm not sure about your "empty FA page" point. If all votes were removed, we could easily delete the nomination page. I think we should remove that point (possibly that's one of your "fallacies", but it looks unprofessional if we have points like this). Similar issue with the "rules" thing: It's true that the new rules are not laid down in the wiki yet, but this could easily be done, making our point invalid. I also added some sort of summary to the proposal. "Users and regular members of the wiki" - what do you mean by that? Probably something like "Sysops and regular members", right? And, what's the "Also," for, right before "You now have our opinions"; is there something missing? Aside from that, good proposal. Hopefully it will convince people. Featured Nominations

Under the FANOMSTAT template, the "passed" line says "WHEN IT IS AT LEAST 5/0, PUT TIME OF 5TH SUPPORT OR REMOVAL OF LAST OPPOSE IN SAME FORMAT".
