Cartoon[edit]

We should remove the Donkey Kong Country cartoon section as it's never called the banana hoard and is just a sprawling banana-filled place. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 08:32, December 29, 2024 (EST)

Remove the Donkey Kong Country television series section[edit]

Remove television series section 6-0
The banana hoard never actually appears in the Donkey Kong Country television series, only large amounts of bananas do, and as such, the section for the show shall be removed from this article. We don't want this article becoming a generic subject, and having a case of the "everything but the kitchen sink" syndrome.

A Hoard of Supporters[edit]

  1. Kaptain Skurvy (talk) Oh, banana!
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) The text seems to suggest this is actually about the plantation seen in a few episodes of the show... We think it's pretty safe to assume the plantation is not the banana hoard. Maybe equivalent to it in the sense of "it's where DK gets his bananas", but the plantation is just kind of a wide field with plenty of banana trees. We'd personally suggest a split to "Banana plantation", rather than an outright deletion, but this information should absolutely not be in this article.
  3. Rykitu (talk) Per all.
  4. Sorbetti (talk) Per proposal.
  5. PrincessPeachFan (talk) As the one who suggested it in the first place.
  6. Technetium (talk) *standing beside a pile of bananas* Er, per all.

Split the banana cave[edit]

Brown Block This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit this section or its subsections. If you wish to discuss the article, please do so in a new section below the proposal.

Do not split the banana cave 1-4
The banana cave is, undoubtedly, its own separate subject from the banana hoard, and as such, should be split. The banana hoard is the pile of bananas, whereas the banana cave is where those bananas are commonly stored. The banana cave can still be visited even when the banana hoard has been stolen. The "banana hoard" article should only focus on the object, while the "banana cave" article should only focus on the location.

Time to make like the banana and split! (Support)[edit]

  1. Kaptain Skurvy (talk) Banana slamma!

I don't really like banana splits (Oppose)[edit]

  1. Salmancer (talk) This creates a "cave" article that is mostly redundant. Which I don't really like. The cave's entire role is being the container for the hoard, it makes sense to talk about their designs and logistics in tandem as they are likely informing each other. We also allow articles to straddle multiple categories: Fireball is both a recurring object and a Super Smash Bros. special move with no real problems created. We have redirects for minor accessories that don't warrant articles, like Maze Manufactory being a redirect for the location where the minigame Lab Brats takes place. Lastly, the cave is an element of the levels Jungle Hijinxs (Donkey Kong Country) and Jungle Hijinxs (Donkey Kong Country Returns), and as per the Super Mario 64 locations "volcano" of Lethal Lava Land and the "pyramid" of Shifting Sand Land, we don't really split segments of levels off from their level. (The Rainbow Cruiser is actually considered by its article's categories to be a very very big object, and therefore can enjoy being split from its home course Rainbow Ride.) To conclude with an analogy that may or may not make sense, splitting banana cave from banana hoard would be like splitting Scrooge McDuck's Money Bin and the mass of coins that are normally within the Money Bin but sometimes get stolen into separate articles. The cave and its contents are narrativly joined at the hip.
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) Per Salmancer; this would be kind of a confusing split, for not much benefit. There's very few circumstances we can imagine someone needing information on just the cave that the Banana hoard is sometimes located in, that wouldn't be best summarized on either the banana hoard's own page, or at the very least, the page for the levels where the banana hoard's cave appears in.
  3. PrincessPeachFan (talk): Per Salmencer.
  4. DryBonesBandit (talk) Per all.
