At first glance, this category is about the Dream World versions of things. However, Dream's Deep, Dream Portal, and Dark Block are here, implying it's supposed to be a Category:Bowser's body equivalent and contain all articles regarding the Dream World. Oh, and Blinker pointed out on Discord that Dreamy Bowser and the things he creates (Dreamy Goomba, Dreamy Shy Guy, etc) are sort of outside the scope of the Dream World. In the original Japanese release, they're named to connect them to the Dream Stone and not the Dream World. Huh. All of them are also currently in this category.
I think the best way to go about this is to have this category be equivalent to "Category:Bowser's body" and just contain all subjects in the Dream World. This adds a bazillion entries, as characters (Seadrings, Dream Stone's spirit, Earthwake, Dreamcap), Luiginary Works (Luiginary Stache Tree, Luiginary Cylinder), Luiginary Attacks, objects (Nightmare Chunk) and events (the Beef-Off) all fill in, and excludes Dreamy Bowser and his goons. Two problems comes up through: one being what to do for the topics that jump between the real and dream worlds, namely Pi'illos, Antasma, and the Zeekeeper. The other is for the Dream Stone and Dark Stone themselves, both items with profound connections to the dream world.
(Before anyone asks, Grobot X, Torkscrew X, Mammoshka X, Pi'illodium X, and Bowser Jr. do not count. The Battle Ring is doing a lot of things, but I think putting these here on a lore technicality would muddy the category.) Salmancer (talk) 01:00, June 26, 2025 (EDT)
- Why is the category name "Dreamy" instead of "Dream World", anyway? Since when does the wiki allow category names in adjective form? rend (talk) (edits) 01:23, June 26, 2025 (EDT)
- Category:Capturable. It happens if there are no better options, usually because the things in the category aren't nice enough to be grouped under a single kind of noun. There's no collective term for characters and objects, and in the case of this category it would be characters, objects, and locations. (Also, I think "Category:Dreamy" is rather old, and might predate more strict policy.) I guess you could do "subjects that can be captured" and "subjects in the Dream World", but those are rather clunky. Salmancer (talk) 01:43, June 26, 2025 (EDT)
