This article is about the Smash Bros. fighter. For the microgame in WarioWare: Mega Microgame$! see here, for the Twisted! one see here, for the Touched! one see here, and for the D.I.Y. Showcase one see here.

Template:SSB Infobox Duck Hunt refers to the playable dog and duck duo fighters in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. They are the two titular non-playable characters from the NES video game they are named after, Duck Hunt. Both characters act as one singular playable fighter, with the duck riding on the dog's back. The original game's premise was to use the NES Zapper gun to shoot down ducks, and the dog would retrieve them and hold them up to award the player points. If the player missed his shot, the dog would laugh. Besides premiering as playable characters in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, Duck Hunt has also made other crossover guest appearances with the Mario series in other instances, mainly in the WarioWare series.

These friendly fowl are the targets in the game Duck Hunt, which utilizes the Nintendo Zapper Light Gun. They appear and randomly fly about trying to escape after your faithful (if slightly clamorous) hunting dog flushes them out. Once you drop the ducks, your dog dutifully fetches them by the napes of their necks and grins at you.

Trivia

  • The Duck Hunt microgame in WarioWare: Touched! bears the Duck Hunt title, but instead of featuring the iconic dog and ducks, it uses clay pigeons.
