Hello, RubenGamer6485. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the aboutfile template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using aboutfile incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, RubenGamer6485. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the aboutfile template, replacing the uncategorized template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

or

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, thanks for your recent upload. However, you forgot to categorize your upload, as when you upload an image you should add the proper category, for example, as your uploaded image was a Game & Watch Image, the correct category for said image would be the . Finally, you need to add the aboutfile template describing the source of your image, the subject of the image, etc when you upload. As an additional note, when adding images to an article, you can add |insertnumberherepx to the image's code to change the size of the image to better suit the article. Thanks! You are adding the proper aboutfile template, however please remember to properly add a category, which you are still forgetting to do. Also, you can change the name of the file when uploading so that it is more descriptive in nature instead of being random letters and numbers like with this file. Continuing to forget to add categories may lead to future warnings. Still, good job on uploading images. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 18:43, 30 December 2018 (EST)
Also, you now seem to be adding the category code when uploading, which is good, however, you seem to be using {{ brackets when adding the code for a category, however, the [[ brackets should be used in the code for the category. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 19:07, 30 December 2018 (EST)
Please remember this information, continuing to ignore it will result in warnings. Additionally, please give your images more appropriate names rather than uploading them with strings of numbers. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 10:37, 31 December 2018 (EST)
Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (Continuing to incorrectly categorize images despite help and a reminder) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Regarding your recent uploads, you are continuing to incorrectly categorize images, as the correct category for your recent uploads would be not , with the later being the code you keep on adding to your uploads despite being reminded to use the [[ brackets instead. Also, as Alex 95 said, when uploading you should give images more appropriate names, which you are still not doing. (before said image was moved to a more appropriate name.) Continuing to ignore talk page messages will result in future punishments. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 11:17, 31 December 2018 (EST)

Categories should be under the game they are from, not the game series. Category:Game & Watch Images is for images of the Game & Watch systems and game screenshots actually from those. For images from the Game & Watch Gallery series, please use whatever Game & Watch Gallery category is appropriate. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 11:11, 1 January 2019 (EST)
Additionally, if you forget to add the category when you upload the image, please edit the page itself to add it, rather than reuploading the image, as that doesn’t affect the content of the page. --A sprite of a Flame Chomp from New Super Mario Bros. In addition, when citing an image source, place one right-angle bracket around the link [like this] to properly create a link. Trig - 15:12, July 19, 2019 (EDT)

Italics

Please note that, when adding the name of a game into an article, you need to use italics, for example instead of spelling just Egg in an article (when talking about the game) you need to instead spell it as Egg. Also, you are still forgetting to properly categorize images as stated above, continuing to forget that will lead to a last warning. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 22:09, 31 December 2018 (EST)

Please stop forgetting to properly italicize game titles on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.
If you feel this reminder was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You have done this again. Please remember the above in the future. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 19:37, February 1 2019 (EST)

In your newly created page Gallery Corner‎ while you italicized some game titles, you forgot to italicize game titles in image captions and in infoboxes such as Game & Watch Gallery 4 as seen before edit. Please remember that game titles should be italicized, even in infoboxes and captions. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 10:28, 8 February 2019 (EST)

Please remember that game titles should also be italicized in aboutfile templates too. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 13:28, 9 February 2019 (EST)

Image alignment

Keep in mind that you can align images to the left by adding |left to the image code. Try to make use of this if the image becomes misplaced. More information can be found on Help:Image if you need it. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 07:46, 1 January 2019 (EST)

Italics and contractions

Hello, regarding your recent creation of the page Alarm Monkey, we do not use contractions in the main content of pages such as doesn't as in that case we use does not, unless they are used in things such as quotes. Also, while you have been remembering to italicize certain game titles, there is examples with your newly created page where you forgot to italicize a game title. Thanks for your understanding. Doomhiker (talk)Artwork of a Topmini from Super Mario Galaxy 15:40, 31 January 2019 (EST)

Alarm Koopa

Since "Koopa" is the name the manual referred to Bowser by, and that looks like Bowser, it's pretty safe to say that's just a particular role granted to Bowser for said game. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 22:50, 9 February 2019 (EST)

Lowercase extension

Per MarioWiki:Image use policy, keep in mind that the image extension in the "Destination filename" field when you upload must be lowercase (e.g. .jpg, not .JPG). Thanks. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 19:02, 13 February 2019 (EST)

Super Game Boy

Hi, on those you seem to just be recoloring. The problem with this is that the older sprites were ripped incorrectly, and as such don't have the correct differentiation between the white and the transparent. I'd feel a lot better if they were wholly re-ripped using the tile viewer of BGB emulator or VisualBoyAdvanced, like in my Spark animation. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:31, June 8, 2019 (EDT)

Game and Watch gallery 2 sprite rips

As a spriter myself, this is nothing but painful-to-the-soul to look at for me. Upload them at the proper, in-game size without stretching them to oblivion, please. Also, when enlarging sprites for any reason, set the sampling to Nearest Neighbor. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:11, November 30, 2019 (EST)

On a similar note, I have noticed you have uploaded a lot of G&WG images. Like, a lot a lot. Quite a many find themself unused. I wanted to see if you are actually intending to use them yourself in a project or if I should start adding them to articles/deleting them. Thanks! Trig - 22:04, December 12, 2019 (EST)

Those names

Please stop making unconstructive edits on the Super Mario Wiki. This isn't a warning, and it's possible that you made a mistake by accident or without realizing it; this is simply a reminder for your information. If the action continues, then a warning will be issued. Thanks for reading and keep contributing.

Please stop naming files with periods in the middle (e.g. Donkey Kong Jr. Apple.png), as it is a direct violation of the Image Use Policy. If you need assistance on naming files, consult the IUP or my own guide. Thank you. Trig - 20:12, February 24, 2020 (EST)

G&WG series sprites

Just out of curiosity, do you by any chance have Game & Watch Galleries 1, 2, 3, and 4? If so or if not, how are you self-ripping sprites for the Modern versions of G&W games? Dwhitney (talk) 14:26, February 27, 2020 (EST)

 • I use an app called Background Eraser, so I can rip the sprites from the games' sprite sheets (or the appropiate screenshot if there are not any) at the original size and max quality. No PNG Monstrous required! RubenGamer6485 (talk) 17:42 February 27, 2020 (EST)
PNG Monstrous does not change quality. Trig - 17:59, February 27, 2020 (EST)
 • I once used PNG Monstrous and nothing worked. RubenGamer6485 (talk) 18:06 February 27, 2020 (EST)

OGG vs OGA

While I go into more detail about it here, when uploading OGG files, change them to OGA directly on the upload screen due to creator's request. Do not upload OGG files. Use OGA. Trig - 20:12, March 1, 2020 (EST)

^ General reminder. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:49, March 29, 2020 (EDT)
Oh, additionally, the audio files need to be clipped to 30 seconds or less to comply with copyright issues. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:54, March 29, 2020 (EDT)

Moving files

Please remember to mark the old file name for deletion with delete after moving a file and changing the file links, thanks. Lucina costume pose in Super Mario Maker Mario JC 22:26, June 16, 2020 (EDT)
