I agree that the variant should be split, but I'm iffy on the "sandwich" identifier. Why not "Blarggwich ([[Count Fang's Castle]])"? {{User:Hewer/sig}} 20:04, August 15, 2023 (EDT)

Blargg?

Are we sure this is a sub-species of a Blargg, as it looks nothing like a Blargg and it also doesn't act like a Blargg? Yoshi876 (talk)

The build is like a Gargantua Blargg and it shares that characteristic eyes and eyebrows, just without the mouth. Other than that, I'm not sure if it's even a Blaarg.

Salvo the Slime's castle.

I've found in the Japanese advance manual, here, that the Support Ghost found in Salvo the Slime's Castle has a different name from the Blargg looking one. Can anyone tell me in Romaji what is it name, and what does it name means? --83.156.220.80 11:55, 3 July 2018 (EDT)

Looks like it's "rojā rifuto", according to 2257 (talk), so "Roger Lift". I'll add it. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 19:26, 3 July 2018 (EDT)
Then they should be split, since they're clearly different. Anyone know what the description of it says about it? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:30, 3 July 2018 (EDT)

Roger Lift:

足場せたのおばけ。ビョーンとのびてんでくれる。ふれてもダメージはけないので、安心してんでもらおう。

My translation:

A water obake wearing a foothold on its head. Its bouncy stretching can carry to high places. Contact also will not deal damage, so reassuringly let it carry you.

Unbaba Lift:

のリフトでヨッシーをんでくれる。完全自動運転なので、融通がきかないのがタマにキズ。

My translation:

Its head lift will carry Yoshi. It is in fully automatic motion, so it is unadaptable to certain hazards.

So Roger Lift is essentially a harmless water spirit, and Unbaba Lift / Support Ghost / Blarggwich is more like a creature that takes Yoshi through an obstacle course when active. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:00, 12 September 2018 (EDT)

So, the redirection i made should be changed to a page? The player guide only says about Sluggy The Unshaven's Fort, but not Salvo The Slime's Castle. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 14:20, 15 September 2018 (EDT)
Indubitably. They are different things. THem being merged in the first place was simply ease of mentioning the vaguely-similar thing we didn't yet have a name for. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:09, 15 September 2018 (EDT)

Two different things?

This thing has two different Japanese and Korean names in Yoshi's New Island. One for the normal version, and one for the "sandwich" version. Would it make sense to split them? Blinker (talk) 08:03, November 25, 2022 (EST)

They seem like two separate objects, but how would it work exactly since they appeared in the same game with an identical English name? LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:22, November 25, 2022 (EST)
Would "Blarggwich (sandwich)" work, like how there's "Pokey" and "Pokey (heading)"? Blinker (talk) 08:44, November 25, 2022 (EST)
That can work. LinkTheLefty (talk) 08:46, November 25, 2022 (EST)

Split the Yoshi's New Island World 2-8 variant

This proposal aims to split the variant found in World 2-8 of Yoshi's New Island.

  • Appearance: The original grows from the bottom of the screen and carries a green lift. The World 2-8 variant is sandwiched between two yellow or red lifts.
  • Behavior: The original moves along a set path. The World 2-8 variant stays still or moves along a path, and raises the lift on its head when hit with a ground pound.
  • Name: The two have different names in Japanese and Korean versions, and the same name in most other translations. The name "Blarggwich" itself is a portmanteau of "Blargg" and "sandwich", which seems to describe the World 2-8 variant. The use of the name in the title of Ride the Blarggwich may be a mistake.

The name I suggest for the new page is "Blarggwich (sandwich)", following the format of "Pokey (heading)".
