Screech is first encountered in ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]''. In the game, he is the only boss (not including [[Kaptain K. Rool]]) in the area [[The Flying Krock]], and the last obstacle between [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]], [[Dixie Kong|Dixie]], and K. Rool.

After some adventuring through the [[bramble]]-filled maze that is "[[Screech's Sprint]]", Diddy and Dixie find and use an [[Animal Barrel]], which transforms them into [[Squawks|Squawks the Parrot]]. Approaching the nearby Screech, the evil parrot challenges them to a race through the bramble maze.
In ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest]]'', Screech appears as a mini-boss in the area [[Flying Krock|The Flying Krock]]. Instead of battling Screech directly, [[Diddy Kong|Diddy]] and [[Dixie Kong]] would instead race him as [[Squawks the Parrot]] after transforming him using an [[Animal Barrel]]; the race against Screech takes place in the [[bramble]] and [[Zinger]] filled "[[Screech's Sprint]]" and would end once either Screech or Squawks crossed a finish line composed of [[banana]]s. If Squawks were to lose against Screech, he would also lose a [[Balloon|life]] and have to race him again. Once Screech was beaten, Diddy and Dixie Kong could gain access to Kaptain K. Screech reappears in ''[[Donkey Kong Country 2]]'s'' semi-sequel ''[[Donkey Kong Land 2]]''. Once again he races the Kongs and once again he is defeated.

Screech is a large, brown and red parrot and member of the Kremling Krew; he is also possibly the pet of the Kremling Krew's leader, Kaptain K. Rool.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Screech appears as a mini-boss in the area The Flying Krock. Instead of battling Screech directly, Diddy and Dixie Kong would instead race him as Squawks the Parrot after transforming him using an Animal Barrel; the race against Screech takes place in the bramble and Zinger filled "Screech's Sprint" and would end once either Screech or Squawks crossed a finish line composed of bananas.
