Costumes

Costumes don't appear in Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, so please stop changing the latest appearances to reflect that. Thanks. Mario JC 09:12, 23 April 2017 (EDT)

Capitalisation / italics

Hi again. When writing a title for any game, movie, publication etc. be sure to capitalise it appropriately (e.g. "Kirby's Return to Dream Land" instead of "Kirby's return to dream land", "Rise of the Guardians" instead of "Rise of the guardians"), and it should also be formatted in italics as well, as I've done here (two apostrophes before and after the title). References

Regarding these edits, they are not references. Please read over this page - Physical resemblances to something from the Mario franchise aren't references unless it's clear this was intentionally done by the creator/developer. Blatant shoutouts to Mario like this or the phrase "It's on like Donkey Kong" are references; things that happen to looks like something from Mario like an egg are not. Additionally, eggs of that design are common in video games, animation etc. so this is purely coincidence. Mario JC 08:15, 27 April 2017 (EDT)

Uploads

Hello, Toadgamer. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups: Images Audio/video files Company images Film images Game images Merchandise images Publication images System images Television series images Website images Company media files Film media files Game media files Merchandise media files Publication media files System media files Television series media files Website media files When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]] or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

A full list of licenses can be found in the file copyright tags category, but the following are the most common: {{game-screenshot}} - Used for game screenshots. {{game-sprite}} - Used for game sprites. {{game-3Drender}} - Used for game models. {{game-cover}} - Used for game box art. {{character-artwork}} - Used for artwork of a character. {{game-logo}} - Used for a game's logo. {{logo}} - Used for other logos. {{photo}} - Used for photographs of real-life subjects. {{art}} - Used for artwork of something that is not a character. {{comic-scene}} - Used for scans of a comic. {{comic-cover}} - Used for covers of comic books. {{tv-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of television shows. {{film-screenshot}} - Used for screenshots of movies. {{video-screenshot}} - Used for other screenshots, such as those from YouTube. {{dvd-cover}} - Used for box art of DVDs. {{vhs-cover}} - Used for box art of VHSes. {{album-cover}} - Used for box art of music albums. {{poster}} - Used for promotional posters. {{music-sample}} - Used for music files. {{sound-clip}} - Used for sound effects. {{video-clip}} - Used for video files. When uploading, select the license from the drop-down box below the summary text box, or add the license manually after uploading or if you're using the upload function from the text editor. For example, artwork of Mario would use {{character-artwork}}. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Don't include multiple copyright templates; choose the one that you feel best fits the file. If you continue uploading files without applying the correct license, then a warning will be issued. Also, I noticed on Discord you mentioned that you tried to upload over a jpg with a png. If the image versions you uploaded like File:Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope plain.jpg were originally png, you need to upload it as a separate file like 2257 said; it should not be converted/renamed to jpg.
