Wariowarefan100's LONG list of failed proposals!

Minigames name changes for Mario Party 2

vetoed by the administrators
The proposal has too many flaws in both argument and design which will make engagement with it too much trouble to leave it up. Please communicate the problem and the solution more clearly while better adhering to the proposal format. Mario (talk)
Don't you think that minigames that are with capitalized names (e.g BOSWER'S Big Blast) should just have their capitalized, and not alter (e.g Boswer's Big Blast) at all? Proposer: Wariowarefan100 (talk)

[(Yes)]: [It is more profuessional]

Deadline: May 28, 2025, 23:59 GMT

Support
  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) This is the option for yes.
Oppose
  1. Altendo (talk) The minigame names are supposed to reflect their most recent (and more common) names. Also, if you are going to do a vote proposal, where are the names of the options or even a proper summary at the top?
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) ...We don't know what minigame this impacts because the options were not filled in, and even if we did, the most recent name without the CAPITAL LETTERS IN THE TITLES should take priority.
  3. Yoshi18 (talk) I just don't see any reason to do this. Giving them their titles based on recent games makes it easier to navigate them. This is like renaming "Ground-Pound" back to "Hip Drop". Like, why would you rename a page back to a term that was last used 25 years ago?

[No)]: [It is too confusing]

Deadline: May 28, 2025, 23:59 GMT

  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) This is an option for no.
Oppose
  1. Altendo (talk) Per my first oppose comment.
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) Per our vote on the first option.
  3. Yoshi18 (talk) Per my first oppose comment.

[(No)]: [It should be in-line with the most recent games.]

  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) As with the nost recent comments.

...I suppose this is the first time you're doing a proposal, given that you've picked a poll proposal format when it's not needed, you've left all the options of the formatting example unchanged so no one knows what exactly they're voting for, and for the text you have changed, you left in the brackets when the poll proposal formatting section explicitly states to remove the brackets. And even then, you named the proposal "Mario Party 2". This could be about ANYTHING regarding the game, instead of how the minigames are formatted. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 06:11, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

...Well, the options were changed, but they're still poll options. Uh. What do. Camwoodstock-sigicon.png~Camwoodstock ( talk contribs ) Camwoodstock-sigicon2.png 14:12, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

@Wariowarefan100 Yeah, this proposal is not clear and is very likely going to be opposed. A proposal can still be edited or changed within the first four days of its creation, so please fix it to include your true goal rather than very vague placeholders. If you do not change it before 00:00 May 18, 2025 GMT, the Wiki staff will veto this proposal as to not have it take up space. link:User:Sparks Sparks (talk) link:User:Sparks 10:22, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

@Wariowarefan100 Okay, so you made changes to the proposal like we asked, with a more acceptable title and the options being titled, so that's good; however, I think we still have a few problems here: namely, that the proposal is still using the poll format while the three options are now one support option and two oppose options... making the whole thing paradoxical since there's support/oppose options within the oppose options. And again, you don't really NEED multiple options here: one support and one oppose is enough in this case (whether or not one finds it too confusing is for the voter to explain). Also, you need to remove the brackets in the option headers as well.
May I recommend you to switch the format over to the standard proposal format? It is much more fitting for a proposal such as this one. I recommend removing the two current No options you have (including its votes since they're just perring their own votes from the first option's oppose poll), and replace the first Yes option (and the poll format it currently has) with this:

====Yes: It is more professional====
#{{User|{{subst:REVISIONUSER}}}} Per proposal.
====No: It should be in-line with the [[Mario Party: The Top 100|most]] [[Mario Party Superstars|recent]] games====

Also don't forget to move Altendo and Camwoodstock's votes from the first option's oppose poll to this new corresponding oppose option. And don't forget to remove the brackets from the Discussion header, either. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 15:26, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

One more thing: it's Bowser's Big Blast and BOWSER'S Big Blast, not "Boswer's Big Blast" and "BOSWER'S Big Blast". If you want to link to those pages, make sure you spelled the name correctly (in case you missed it, you have swapped the W and the S). ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 15:32, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

So, um. Theoretically, if "yes" and "no" both pass in this proposal (which can happen since it's a poll proposal)... what happens? Ahemtoday (talk) 17:17, May 15, 2025 (EDT)

Porplemontage wrote this message on Discord in response to a suggestion that pre-release and unused content could get their own namespace: "The unusual thing about Gallery and Multimedia pages and why they are their own namespaces is because they are primarily not text-based content (Gallery exists to showcase images and Multimedia exists to showcase media files). All primarily text-based pages, including pre-release and unused content, should use mainspace." Jdtendo(T|C) 15:36, May 20, 2025 (EDT)

The main picture of 5-Volt being from "Get It Together!"

vetoed by the administrators
According to Template:Character infobox: "ideally, artwork from the most recently released game. However, if the latest artwork is specialized for that game (i.e. the character's wearing sporting gear, driving a kart, etc.), an older image may be retained as the infobox image instead." 5-Volt's Move It! artwork depicts her with a lei necklace, thus making it specialized.
Hey! Shouldn't the picture from 5-Volt's article contain the picture from "Move It!" and not from "Get It Together!" Proposer: Wariowarefan100 (talk)
Deadline: June 5, 2025, 23:59 GMT

Yes: It sholud be replaced with the one from "Move It!"

Anything Goes

vetoed by the administrators
Hey! Shouldn't mis-leadings phases like "all of them have Wario in same way." in "Anything Goes" sections be changed to be like "All of them are Wario-related"? Proposer: Wariowarefan100 (talk)
Deadline: June 6, 2025, 23:59 GMT

"All of them are Wario-related" [replacement text

  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) This is a proposal to change the texts.

Discussion

Please clearly identify and specify the issues outlined. What articles are you referring to? Additionally please format the proposals accordingly. There is only one option in this proposal; you will need at least two options, one being the status quo (oppose). Sprite of Mario's icon in Mario Party DS It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 16:37, May 23, 2025 (EDT) Is this about a single sentence on List of WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! microgames? If so, shouldn't this be a talk page proposal? This probably should've been mentioned about your previous proposal too, but if your proposal only concerns one specific article, it's better to have the proposal being hosted on that article's talk page instead of here (also, the list if ongoing talk page proposals would have to be updated as well).
In fact, if this only concerns a single sentence, I'm not sure if it's even worth a proposal. This could've easily been a discussion piece on the talk page for the article in question instead. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 16:49, May 23, 2025 (EDT) If we're understanding this proposal correctly, you... Don't need a proposal to edit a single sentence. If you're that uncertain, you can ask on the talk page or on the Discord, but you shouldn't make a proposal that has one option for it. Goombette

vetoed by the administrators
Hey! Should ALL text in pages referring to Goombette as a "species" should referring to said charatcer as such a "character" instead? Proposer: Wariowarefan100 (talk)
Deadline: June 12, 2025, 23:59 GMT

Goombette is a "species": This will make Goombette a "species"

  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) I disagree with "species".

Goombette is a "charatcer": This will make Goombette a "character"

  1. Wariowarefan100 (talk) I agree with "character".
  2. Camwoodstock (talk) ...Is this like, asserting Goombette is her own specific species separate from a Goomba? Like, ordinary Goombas and girl Goombas are different on a species level? That doesn't make a lick of sense.

Disussion

This would most likely be best handled as a talk page proposal on Talk:Goombette. -- Pseudo (talk, contributions) User:Pseudo 16:34, May 29, 2025 (EDT) What exactly is this proposal trying to do? You don't give any reasoning, and you voted for both contradictory options, which is against the rules. In those votes you seem to feel that Goombette should be considered a character, which... she already is. She is a Goomba.--PopitTart (talk) 16:38, May 29, 2025 (EDT) Goombette is whatever Nintendo decides. Some text in-game describes her as a character, she is listed as though she is an enemy species on Mario Portal, and multiple appear in the Sand Kingdom at once. There needs to be a "no change" option as well, since again, she's portrayed as a sort-of in-between, which is what we reflect. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 16:55, May 29, 2025 (EDT)

I'm pretty sure the second option of saying she's a character IS the status quo option. And the double voting is merely just them saying they agree with one and they disagree with the other. @Wariowarefan100 You don't have to add a vote to an option you oppose or disagree with. In a standard proposal format, adding a vote under an option means you vote for that option. It's best to remove your vote under the "Goombette is a species" option, since it appears you actually disagree with that sentiment (meaning that you don't have to put a vote under it). Besides, it's against the rules to vote for every option available, anyway. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 18:13, May 29, 2025 (EDT)
