"Ultimate" is a bad redirect because the word is actually super common in gaming to refer to things that are really hard, powerful, comprehensive, or cool. There are a lot of ways to structure the complaint, but list is funny.
- Ultimate Challenge 1, Ultimate Challenge 2, Ultimate Challenge 3, Ultimate Challenge 4
- Ultimate Boost Blast
- Ultimate Castle Challenge
- Ultimate Figure Skating
- Ultimate NES Remix
- Ultimate Islet (location without article in Donkey Kong Adventure which has the game's ultimate challenges
- The Chimp's Ultimate Skating Challenge
- The Ultimate Test
- The Ultimate Show (Super Paper Mario song that is required to get an article at some point.
- The Poker Faces (The Ultimate Weapons is a redirect.)
- Shadow (character) (He calls him self "the ultimate" when he says "I'm the ultimate." While silly, remember we have Tiny Kong and Lanky Kong linked to in the "about" templates of Cool Kong and Crazy Kong because of the lyrics of DK Rap describing them as being a cool Kong and a crazy Kong, making this argument entirely valid when the scope is redirects. Besides, Shadow is also the Ultimate Lifeform, which is a redirect.)
- While very minor and thus not really practically part of the argument, I am obligated to mention The Ultimate Nintendo Baddies Quiz! and Ultimate Mario Strikers Buzzer Beater.
"Ultimate" currently redirects to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and while that game is extremely popular, I don't think it is popular enough have a chokehold over the world "Ultimate" and to impede people who want to go to any of the above articles. We should remove the redirect, readers are better off on the search page for "Ultimate" so as to not bury all of these valid articles that readers may want to find. - You wouldn't refer to, let alone search for, any of the subjects you listed as just "Ultimate", though, which is the point of a redirect. The Smash redirect makes sense because it's the subtitle of the game, like Brawl and Melee.

- Not even Ultimate NES Remix, the one that is also a game? (okay, also one that is more than a few magnitudes less popular than Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and if there's only one valid example than adding Template:Redirect makes more sense than deleting the redirect. Salmancer (talk) 00:21, November 8, 2025 (EST)
- Yeah, I'm gonna side with Mario JC on this one. Literally none of the subjects Salmancer mentioned would be referred to as just "Ultimate". Yes, that especially includes Ultimate NES Remix. Meanwhile, I have heard Super Smash Bros. Ultimate being referred to as just "Ultimate" in YouTube videos all of the time. Wilben (talk) 08:36, January 9, 2026 (EST)

- Also, Shadow is often referred to as "The Ultimate Life-Form", in case you think that quote is confusing.
