Merge article into Cackletta[edit]

don't merge 1-7

The Goodwill Ambassador doesn't appear as a separate character in the game, and there's no indication she even existed other than as an identity made by Cackletta. I suggest this be merged into the Cackletta article because of that.

  1. Superchao (talk) Per proposal.

  1. YoshiKong (talk) Per Marshal Dan Troop's comment here.
  2. ThePremiumYoshi (talk) - Per Marshal Dan Troop's argument on the proposal YoshiKong mentioned; besides, if we were to merge this article with Cackletta, that page would have more cruft than it already has.
  3. Mario4Ever (talk) Per YoshiKong.
  4. King Pikante (talk) Per YoshiKong.
  5. RandomYoshi (talk) — Per YoshiKong.
  6. Toad85 (talk) Per Troop and YoshiKong.
  7. Sonic98 (talk) Per YoshiKong.

Merge to Cackletta[edit]

merge 8-2

Yes I see the proposal directly above this one, but the way that one went was comparing a disguise to a transformation. While the Black Cat was Princess Shokora, the cat played a bigger and more important role in the game while this is just Cackletta in disguise as a part of a plan she came up with. I believe this should be merged cause The Goodwill Ambassador is just a disguise at will while the Black Cat is a transformation.

  1. Tails777 (talk) Cackletta and the Goodwill Ambassador are more alike to Luigi and Cassanova Koopa rather than Shokora and the Black Cat.
  2. Ninelevendo (talk) A wilful disguise used for two seconds that's based on Lady Lima doesn't deserve an article. Mr. L was a forced disguise that was a different character. Gold Mario was merely a Powered-Up Mario, this article is merely a disguised character.
  3. Vommack (talk) Per both.
  4. Ghost Jam (talk) Per all.
  5. Walkazo (talk) - Makes sense. Per Tails777.
  6. Tsunami (talk) The ambassator, who actually is Cackletta disguised as Lady Lima, [...]. Merge at one condition: everything in this article should be in Cackletta article (sprites and text, the quote can be discarded).
  7. SuperYoshiBros (talk) Per Ninelevendo and Tails.
  8. Stonehill (talk) Per all.
  9. Koopakoolklub (talk) Per all.

  1. Sonic98 (talk) The sentence had already been issued. They are two completely different characters. It makes no sense to return on a proposal already rejected in the past. Would make sense if we would have more news on that character (and for the same reason they are against the proposed Gold Mario).
  2. Mario (talk) My idea probably won't gain ground, considering the direction of this proposal, but I think it's a better idea to just redirect this to Lady Lima because I suppose that's what Lady Lima is. Cackletta disguises herself ultimately as Lady Lima, after all.

Seeing as this relates to Gold Mario (character), in terms of what exactly we are talking about, I'm wondering if there's an actual standard for articles like this. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 17:42, 5 July 2014 (EDT)

@Sonic98: This is defiantly the same character as Cackelleta: It's literally a disguise. Gold Mario was a little bit different; he is the same character though. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 06:40, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
Also, "because it's already been done" is a terrible argument in a proposal. Previous resolutions get changed all the time.--Vommack (talk) 09:09, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
(From the proposal page) No proposal can overturn the decision of a previous proposal that is less than 4 weeks (28 days) old. Because the old proposal was a year ago, we could make a new proposal to overturn the old one, as long there are 4 weeks of difference from the deadline(?) and the day of creation of the new proposal. Ok, it's not against the rules of the wii, but what is the point to redo an old proposal without new information? If some users were opposed to a year ago, I do not think that the same users will support this proposal.--Sonic98 (talk) 14:36, 6 July 2014 (EDT)
The userbase is irrelevant. Regardless of new facts, a new viewpoint has clearly been brought to the page, and it is clear most users agree with it. Proposals are challenged and re-proposed all the time, and I'm sorry, but if your best argument is "there's an old proposal", no one is going to take you seriously. You could at least bring up something that was used in the last proposal.--Vommack (talk) 14:49, 6 July 2014 (EDT)

@Sonic98: By saying that the Goodwill Ambassador and Cackletta are different characters, that's also saying Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong in a King K. Rool costume are different characters when really it's the same person in a disguise. I don't find your reasoning to be very accurate. Sprite of Yoshi's stock icon from Super Smash Bros. We really need to set a standard for this, maybe I'll propose for one to take place. Because there are so many articles that relate to this subject, like Mr. L, Gold Mario, Meowser, Shadow Mario and Metal Mario to name a few. Most of these have reasons to be split, but some have reasons otherwise. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 04:07, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
Well, if I could put my opinion on it...Mr. L is more than a costume, he's a distinct personality, even if it's still Luigi. Gold Mario is under debate right now. My feelings are that if he keeps making consistent appearances like Metal Mario, split him, but right now he doesn't deserve his own article.--Vommack (talk) 14:51, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
Mr. L is a different character enough, it's supposed not to even be recognisable as Luigi, and his got a completely different personality. This can go, but if it does, it has the same reasoning a Gold Mario. However, that makes Shadow Mario under question. How different is Shadow Mario to Gold Mario? - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 16:55, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
Gold Mario hasn't done anything that differentiates him from normal Mario. Same personality, same bogey animations, the only difference is he's made of gold. Shadow Mario hasn't really done anything to separate himself from Bowser Jr. either...--Vommack (talk) 17:23, 7 July 2014 (EDT)
I think I should propose "No disguises/transformations/power-ups that don't differentiate from the original power up" or something. Because what difference is their as of either of the two? Or any of the other subject that relates to this? - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 17:28, 7 July 2014 (EDT)

@Mario: Yeah not really. If people are stupid enough to think that Lady Lima transformed into Cackelleta, it would be fine. - Ninelevendo's Sig Image 03:04, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
