Talk:SSX on Tour

From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia

I think this should be merged with game sightings, sure Mario, Luigi and Peach may be playable, but aside from that, do they actually contribute to the plot (whatever it may be) of the game? If not, I think it should be written-off as a playable game sighting. -- Sir Grodus

Agreed. Redirecting article. -- Son of Suns
SSX On Tour doesn't have a plot. It's basically just your character snowboarding. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Split SSX on Tour from Video Game References[edit]

Settledproposal.svg This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal.

SPLIT 6-1

We have Super Smash Bros.. We have Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. We have Captain Rainbow. And yet this gets moved to Video game references. A video game reference is a slight mention or cameo of another character, item, etc. in another series. Here, Mario, Peach and Luigi are full blown characters. There's even a Nintendo hill. If this isn't split, then we should move the others into Video Game References too, because they're all crossover series.

Split article[edit]

  1. Reversinator (talk) Per proposal.
  2. MATEOELBACAN (talk) Per proposal, I mean, It has the same things like Captain Rainbow to be an Article here!
  3. Grandy02 (talk) Per proposal. Mario, Luigi and Peach are full-worthy playable characters, not just cameos. I don't mind that the game doesn't have a story, there are also various Mario games without any storyline. And Wario Blast is also basically a Bomberman game with Wario added. Of course, one article on this game is enough, no detailed descriptions or even articles on all those other snowboarders and courses. The same should go for NBA Street V3 (currently merged with game references, too).
  4. Time Q (talk): I think this clearly counts as a crossover game, so it should be treated as one. That means: separate article.
  5. Red Shell 68066vr (talk) per Grandy02
  6. Cobold (talk) - per Grandy02, Alleyway, Tetris DS, etc. are also examples.

Leave it as it is[edit]

  1. Gamefreak75 (talk) No, just no. Though SSX Tour may feature them as playable characters, they have no role in it whatsoever. However, in SSBB, we have the Subspace Emissary and in MASATOWG, we have Story Mode (played it once, so I'm not sure). Mario and everyone plays roles in the aformentioned game, in SSX Tour, nothing whatsoever.

Comments[edit]

@Gamefreak: SSX on Tour has no story. You pick a snowboarder and you do some snowboarding. Reversinator (talk)

Exactly, no point. Though I have never played Captain Rainbow, I'm not sure if that game has a story either.Gamefreak75 (talk)
If there's no story, then nobody has a role. If nobody has a role, then start changing your oppose. Reversinator (talk)

@Red Shell: In Sim City, it's just cameos. Reversinator (talk)

We'll wait for other users to see their POV. Gamefreak75 (talk)
I'll hope this isn't a slow proposal like some of the others. Reversinator (talk)

If this passes, does that mean that this will get added to the coverage policy? Also, if we have articles on SSBB characters/stages, shouldn't we also have articles on SSX characters/stages? I mean we allow articles on Wario Blast characters, does that mean SSX characters get articles too?--Knife (talk) 13:54, 6 February 2010 (EST)

You do have a point. We need to be consistent, after all. This also goes for other crossovers, I guess. Reversinator (talk)
True, and also the characters have no appearnce in Mario games at all (though this applies to most SSB characters). I don't think that this will be consistent, but that's my thought.Gamefreak75 (talk)
It would be consistent with our coverage. Also, I'd put emphasis on (though this applies to most SSB characters). Reversinator (talk)
Yeah...^_^', but the characters don't play a specific role, they're just in one non-Mario game that he appears in. However, people like Snake or Fox play a role in the Subspace Emissary.Gamefreak75 (talk)
Well if the SSX on tour ends up needing articles for characters then I might just do them since I still own the game, all you're really doing in it is trying to get enough hype and reputation until you beat the game and each person has their own ending if I'm still correct. Still I don't really see at as a Mario game even though Mario, Peach, and Luigi and a gamecube exclusive stage are on it. GigaMetalLuigi
The same could be said with the other crossovers. Reversinator (talk)
??? SSBB=Mario is one of the main antagonists, MARIO and Sonic at the Olympic (Winter) Games. And Captain Rainbow is some weird thing...Gamefreak75 (talk)
@Gamefreak75: SSX on Tour has some no mario related characters but SSBB and M&S:ATOG/WG too like Samus and Sonic respectively. MATEOELBACAN (talk)

@Red Shell: Those are all cameos. Reversinator (talk)

So what do the supporters think about adding this and NBA V3 to the coverage policy?--Knife (talk) 09:42, 7 February 2010 (EST)

We should, along with Itadaki Street DS and Yakuman DS. Hello, I'm Time Turner.

Tetris DS, Alleyway, and so forth. - Cobold (talk)

I really wish I'd seen that proposal above sooner... -_- - Gabumon from the Digimon franchise Gabumon(talk) 05:37, 18 May 2010 (EDT)

Infobox[edit]

Can someone create an infobox?? KS3 (talk · contribute)

Question[edit]

This game is a crossover so why don't we treat it like other crossover games and make articles on all of the things in this game Raven Effect (talk)

Because people either don't have the game or are too lazy to make articles. GreenDisaster 20:50, 6 March 2012 (EST)
Well they aren't even mentioned on the coverage policy while the other crossovers are Raven Effect (talk)

Nintendo Village[edit]

Shouldn't it get its own article? Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 13:54, 10 October 2015 (EDT)
