Could this be an early name for Donkey Kong Classics?

The game being covered in 1987 and early 1988 lines up pretty well with DK Classics' release date of September 1988, and it would also explain why no Japanese sources ever mentioned Return of Donkey Kong as DK Classics was never released in Japan. The blurbs somewhat implying you would play as DK could perhaps be the writers misunderstanding the description of the game given to them ("This is your chance to get a hold of that rascal Donkey Kong and take control!" could've been misinterpreted from something like "This is your chance to get the classic DK games if you missed them originally!") though given the vague and rather awkward language it's hard to tell. This might be a bit too speculatory (we only have two short blurbs to go off of after all) but I felt it'd be worth at least bringing up. --Snessy (talk) 13:05, February 3, 2025 (EST)

Merge to list of unreleased media?

I don't see why this should be split from the list of unreleased media. Every other unreleased game article either has a lot of documented information, screenshots, a playable build or reworked into another game. This, however, has none of the above. No screenshots of the game have surfaced and not much is known about the game. This has as much going for it as some games on the unreleased media list. Kaptain Skurvy 07:28, February 16, 2025 (EST)

It's about time we have this merged to the list of unreleased media. Why is this even split from the first place? The other games split from the unreleased media article either have screenshots, a playable build, concept art, or something along those lines, yet this basically has no official information anywhere. It had a section in both a Nintendo Fun ClubMedia:Fun Club NES.png issue and the Official Nintendo Player's GuideMedia:RoDK Player's Guide.png, with very minor information about it. This game has just as much information on some games on the unreleased media list, so this should be merged there.
