Talk:Eye Beamer

Eye Beamer is the internal name of the obstacles in the Dreadnought Galaxy. I put the 3D model of this robot on the game page. I believe we could easily create an article for him. I do not feel like doing it because I do not have an appropriate command of English to create a page. And moreover, from what I understand, to create the page would also need to know the Japanese name.--Alternis (talk) 09:03, 26 February 2019 (EST)

Thanks, the article has been created. I wasn't sure where they appeared. LinkTheLefty (talk) 09:22, 3 March 2019 (EST)
I wonder what mention was it given on the Prima guide... --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 10:24, 3 March 2019 (EST)
They're just called "lasers" and "laser beams" when describing Infiltrating the Dreadnought. For example, on page 270: "Jump from the steps to the top of the laser beams that were searing the planetoid's core. Ride the lasers over the water to reach a long grassy ledge that is also guarded by lasers. Jump off the laser to the platform, grab the nearby 1-Up Mushroom, and then weave around the laser beams that crisscross the walkway leading straight to the Power Star." I'm kinda conflicted by this. The template mentions "If an acceptable public source is found", so some action must be taken. I can understand Lumacomète, but given the "Hatopop" situation, shouldn't pages like this and Torpedo Base be moved to their Encyclopedia names, given that "Spotlight Platform" and "Launch Pad" are entirely original, to name a few? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 05:24, November 5, 2023 (EST)

My encyclopedia proposal wasn't designed with this template in mind, or anticipated the development of another proposal adding a lower naming tier, but at the time it was written, it was specifically intended to be "the very last resort" in a tier all its own. As long as Lumacomète remains a loose end, I still stand by this. On the other hand, given past discussions, I think we should hopefully reach a consensus on rewording/amending the new template to cover the development tier in its entirety, since the current arrangement results in some weird technicalities on what is or isn't suited for the template. To be honest, i personally am not against this template (i'm in fact in support for it). I do fully acknowledge, and admit i was a bit uh... hectic about it about it in the past, but i digress... Let's just wait for a consensus on it, like you said. --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 10:18, November 5, 2023 (EST)
Actually, I didn't realize the template was already edited from "internal filename" to "internal data" to account for unused material that aren't filenames, so some of said technicalities should be covered (still not sure if this really counts stuff like the pre-compiled Wario Land 4 source assets that aren't taken from post-compiled games though). Another way to go about this could be to swap the development and encyclopedia tiers as long as we just ensure that Lumacomète remains Comet Tico per source priority exception, though that would require a new proposal. And another thing I wanted to get around to was how to cover the potential use of internal romanizations that differ from the wiki's Hepburn system. And cases like 100 Coin and Sparkies are odd - do they count in light of the template? There's a lot of ways this can go, really. But yeah, let's hammer out those finer details as part of a bigger discussion. LinkTheLefty (talk) 10:35, November 5, 2023 (EST)
Out of curiosity... What is the internal name for Galaxy's Torpedo Tubes? --Green Yoshi FanOfYoshi 04:20, November 11, 2023 (EST)
I'm pretty sure it's the same gunner object as Blasters and Burners, which doesn't really narrow things down. LinkTheLefty (talk) 15:45, November 11, 2023 (EST)
