Super Mario series[edit]

New Super Mario Bros. U[edit]

Main article: Athletic Theme (New Super Mario Bros. U)

Arrangements of "Ground Theme" are included in various themes throughout New Super Mario Bros. U:

A brief, synthesized arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays during the game's loading screen from the Wii U menu.

An arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays in the game's title screen, likewise named "Title" in the Nintendo Music app.

The first seven notes of the main motif of "Ground Theme" are incorporated into the theme that plays in the main menus of the game, such as the file and character selection. When in the Challenges, Boost Rush, or Coin Battle menus, the theme uses a different piano pattern. The entire track is titled "File Select" in the Nintendo Music app.

A faster-paced arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays in sky- and mountain-themed levels, being transposed to D major and using swung sixteenths. It is titled "Athletic Theme" in the Nintendo Music app.

A winter/Christmas arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays in Frosted Glacier's main overword levels, titled "Snowfield Theme" in the Nintendo Music app.

A 3
4
arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays during the cutscene just before the credits, in which Bowser tries to fly away from Peach's Castle with the Koopalings. It is titled "Epilouge" in the Nintendo Music app.

Arrangements of "File Select" and "Title" are incorporated into the staff credits theme, likewise titled "New Super Mario Bros. U Staff Credits" in the Nintendo Music app.

Percussion and vocalizations are added to "Ground Theme" and "Snowfield Theme" whenever a player rides a Yoshi or holds onto a Baby Yoshi respectively. A faster variation of these themes plays when there are 100 seconds left of the Time Limit.

All of these arrangements and remixes return for the same purpose in New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and New Super Luigi U, except for the loading screen theme in the former and the challenge selection theme in the latter.

The remix of "Ground Theme" with Yoshi percussion is reused for the same purpose in Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, and Super Mario Maker 2 in the New Super Mario Bros. U style. "Snowfield Theme" and its respective Yoshi percussion remix is reused in Super Mario Maker 2 for snow-themed levels in the New Super Mario Bros. U style.

Super Mario Maker[edit]

Super Mario Maker features an ambient arrangement of "Ground Theme" using eight tracks that fade in and out randomly to create a dynamic mix. The arrangement is heard while editing New Super Mario Bros. U-style ground-themed courses in the Course Maker.

This arrangement returns in Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS and Super Mario Maker 2, where it is used for the same purpose.

A faithful arrangement of "Ground Theme" plays in overworld levels, but with the Paahs replaced with brass hits. A more ethereal version of this arrangement plays during Coin Rush. The "Hurry Up!" remix is transposed to four semitones higher.

An arrangement of "File Select" can be heard on the level select screen.

An arrangement of the piano melody of "Title" plays in the Kingdom Builder.
