The Super Mario 3D Land equivalent of the Propeller Block is the Propeller Box, which Mario or Luigi can wear over their bodies. The Propeller Box is now orange, and is lost once the player finishes the level but rewards the player with an extra life. While wearing a Propeller Box, Mario or Luigi can't throw boomerangs or fireballs, or turn into a statue, but they're still able to swing their tails. Propeller Boxes also appear in the follow-up title of Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario 3D World, where they act like the prequel, though now the box's color depends on the character wearing it, (e.g. Green for Luigi).

A Propeller Block
Artwork of the Propeller Block.

A Propeller Block is a type of block that appears in New Super Mario Bros. Wii. It is navy blue, with a yellow propeller, and has the same function as a Propeller Mushroom, with the exception that players can maintain the ability to use the Propeller Jump even after being hit as long as they are holding the block, and that they can't take it into pipes. To use it, the player must pick it up (shaking the Wii Remote and pressing One Button) and hold it (by holding down One Button). Then, the user must shake the Wii Remote anytime in order to fly. This block is found at least once in each world (except for World 1), usually in stages where fog is found and in places where there are things floating or in places beyond the reach of the character.
