This article is about the enemy in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. For Boomerang Bros. found in other Mario franchise installations, see Boomerang Bro.

Template:Species-infobox Beanerang Bros. (originally known as Boomerang Bros.) are enemies that appear in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions. They inhabit Gwarhar Lagoon, and only appear in battle alongside enemies such as Sand Cheeps, Sharkbones, and Elite Troopeas.

Unlike normal Boomerang Bros., they are extremely tall and thin, wear sunglasses and white gloves, and have sprouts growing from their heads. Their relationship with their namesake appears to be similar to Troopeas and Koopa Troopas or Lakipeas and Lakitus; however, they share their name in the English and Japanese localizations of the original game. In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, they are renamed to "Beanerang Bros."; their designs are relatively unchanged, but they now have proportionally larger shells and wear shoes.

Beanerang Bros. appear in Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser alongside their normal counterparts. Like the Koopa Troop's Boomerang Bros., Beanerang Bros. are ranged troopers, attacking by throwing their boomerangs at enemies. Their special skill, Piercing Projectile, allows them to throw a boomerang at a targeted minion, damaging every minion in its direction, along with damaging the targeted minion as it comes back. They are strong against Goomba Towers and Pokeys.

Battle

Beanerang Bros. throw brown, pink-striped boomerangs at Mario and Luigi, which can be dodged with jumps. Before throwing, its sunglasses will twinkle; if the right side of the glasses twinkle, it will attack Mario, and if the left side twinkles, it will target Luigi. Sometimes one will throw its boomerang directly at Mario or Luigi, which after reaching him, will come back for the enemy to reclaim, occasionally attempting to hit the opposite brother on its way back. At other times however, one will throw its boomerang off-screen; and when this happens, the boomerang will come back, attempting to hit one of the brothers before the owner can catch it again. The boomerangs can inflict trip on the brothers if they get hit by it.

They are capable of dropping Oho Gear in Japanese versions of Superstar Saga; this item was unused in the English, French, German, Italian and Spanish versions, though fully-functional coding for the drop can be found. In the remake, they can drop Oho Gear in all versions.
