'''Athens ''' is a race course in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. It is set in [[Athens]], {{wp|Greece}}. The first route debuted in the city's namesake tour, the [[Athens Tour]]. The course visits various landmarks of the city it is based upon, most notably the {{wp|Acropolis}}, and the various ruins atop it, such as the [[Parthenon]]. The first route takes players . So far, it is the only city course in ''Mario Kart Tour'' to debut in 2023.

'''''Note: these are based on predictions and estimates, they will be modified to remove any inaccurate information if they are copy/pasted onto their respective courses articles when the wave is shown off, and released.'''''
The first route is a favorite of ???.

London Loop appears in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' as part of the third wave of the [[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]] downloadable content. It is the first course of the [[Rock Cup]]. It has received significant visual upgrades compared to its appearance in ''Mario Kart Tour''. Additionally, the course's music has been fitted with much more percussion compared to the original.
This route also appears as '''Athens  R''' (reversed), '''Athens  T''' (with ramps), and '''Athens  R/T''' (reversed with ramps).

This iteration of the course is a combined and expanded version of the three routes from ''Mario Kart Tour'', with a lap being dedicated to each route. Racers begin on Westminster Bridge by Big Ben, before taking the first London Loop route for Lap 1. There are almost no modifications made to the route's layout, with the exception of a new fork in the road, where racers can opt to drive on a road to the right of Leadenhall Market, instead of driving through it. Lap 2 takes racers round London Loop 2, which takes racers round Buckingham Palace, the British Museum and the bridge next to the London Eye. Lap 3 is <nowiki>____</nowiki>.

Like the rest of the third wave, a snippet of London Loop's music was found in the game's files in v2.1.0, when Wave 2's content was added. This course being positioned in the Rock Cup may be a reference to the course's music, which is based on British rock music from the 1960s and 1970s. It is also one of two courses in the third wave to utilize rock music for its theme, alongside {{classic-link|3DS|Rock Rock Mountain}}. Both of these courses are in the Rock Cup.
==Trivia==
*Prior to its official reveal, assets for this course were left within the game's internal data, with assets such as pillars and doorways being left in the files, alongside the course's internal codename; mobat.

London Loop is one of three ''Mario Kart Tour'' courses in the wave overall, alongside {{classic-link|Tour|Berlin Byways}} and [[Merry Mountain]]. It is the only one that is not in the [[Moon Cup]].

It appears as the third course of the [[Rock Cup]], and was added in the third wave of the DLC, and was added only a little over a month after its debut in ''Mario Kart Tour''. The course uses its design from ''Mario Kart Tour'', albeit with various visual upgrades. Much of the course is now set in [[anti-gravity]]. Boo Lake is the only classic course from ''Mario Kart: Super Circuit'' to appear in ''Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'' that is not the second course in its cup. Like the rest of the third wave, a snippet of Boo Lake's music was found in the game's files in v2.1.0, when Wave 2's content was added.

'''Madrid Drive''' is a race course in ''[[Mario Kart Tour]]''. It is named after and based on the city of [[Madrid]], Spain. The course takes racers through many landmarks of the city such as the {{wp|Plaza Mayor, Madrid|Plaza Mayor}} and the {{wp|Puerta de Alcalá}}. The course currently has two routes, Madrid Drive and '''Madrid Drive 2''' (both of which debuted together in the [[Summer Tour (2023)|2023 Summer Tour]]), with the first route focusing on the {{wp|Santiago Bernabéu Stadium}} and the second route focusing on the {{wp|Market of San Miguel}} and {{wp|Parque del Buen Retiro, Madrid|Retiro Park}}. The course is the seventh course set in a European city. The course features [[Wiggler]]s and [[Thwomp]]s, alongside [[Shoe Goomba]]s, marking their debut in the ''[[Mario Kart (series)|Mario Kart]]'' series.

Rock Rock Mountain is one of two courses to originate from ''Mario Kart 7'' to appear in the third wave of the DLC, alongside {{classic-link|3DS|Rainbow Road}}. Both courses are positioned at the end of their respective cups, and also relate to their cups themes (A rock for Rock Rock Mountain, and a Moon for Rainbow Road).

[[File:MK8-course-Tour BerlinByways.jpg|thumb|250px|Berlin Byways in ''Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'']]
Berlin Byways returns in ''[[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]]'' as part of the [[Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass|Booster Course Pass]] downloadable content. It is the first course of the [[Moon Cup]], and was added in the third wave of the DLC. It has received significant visual upgrades compared to its appearance in ''Mario Kart Tour''. The cars from Berlin Byways 3 return in this version of the course, and follow the same path they did in that route, making this the second course in the pass with traffic, after {{classic-link|DS|Shroom Ridge}}. The minimap has been rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

It is a combined and expanded version of the course's three routes from ''Mario Kart Tour'', and is split into three sections, with each section being dedicated to a different route. Racers begin besides the Berlin Wall, next to the Berlin Cathedral and facing away from the Brandenburg Gate, where they then follow the first Berlin Byways route, racing along the Berlin Wall, driving beneath the Oberbaum Bridge, around the Schiller Monument and into the Tiergarten. However, racers then start the next section on the Straße des 17. Juni through a starting line seen in Berlin Byways 3, before following Berlin Byways 3R briefly. Racers drive towards the Brandenburg Gate but turn left before driving through it, taking them to the Reichstag. When players get to a split in the road, they turn right, and the rest of the section follows Berlin Byways 2. Racers drive through the Berlin Hauptbahnhof and past the New Synagogue, before reaching the final section, through the starting line used at the very beginning of the course. The final section follows Berlin Byways 3 after racers drive through the Brandenburg Gate and glide towards the Berlin Victory Column. Racers drive past landmarks such as the Tempodrom and the Berlin Zoo, before reaching the roundabout again. Racers turn left on the roundabout, then right to pass the Reichstag again. After turning right as they reach the Brandenburg Gate, they reach the finishing line, the same line used in Berlin Byways 3.

Courses

Each of the six waves features two cups, each with four courses, for eight courses per wave.[1] As of the sixth wave, there is one course from Super Mario Kart, two courses each from Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, three courses from Mario Kart 7, four courses from Mario Kart DS, five courses from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, seven courses from Mario Kart Wii, fourteen courses from Mario Kart Tour, and three new courses. Excluding the Mario Kart Tour courses, DS Shroom Ridge and GBA Snow Land are the only courses to make their classic course debuts in the Booster Course Pass.

Ninja Hideaway and Merry Mountain lack the "Tour" prefix, despite both debuting in Mario Kart Tour. In the Tencent release of the DLC in mainland China, all courses from Mario Kart Tour lack the "Tour" prefix, likely due to Mario Kart Tour's unavailability from app distribution platforms in mainland China.

In the British English version of the game, 3DS Rock Rock Mountain and Wii DK Summit are known as 3DS Alpine Pass and Wii DK's Snowboard Cross respectively, as was the case in the British English versions of their original appearances. However, courses that had different names between European French and Canadian French in previous games instead use their European French names in both versions.

In addition to the courses listed below, Wii Daisy Circuit is included among courses in the sixth wave. Its cup and position are currently unknown.[2]
