Actually, "Glow Block" and "Light Block" are used in the trading card and the Prima guide for the same object in NSMBW (光るブロック), but the big ones are different, "Light Foothold" (光る足場). There's thus no English name basis for a split, since "Light Block" has been used interchangeably of both objects. Okay, I think that we've all been living under a misconception for far too long here: Light Blocks and Glow Blocks aren't quite the same thing. Like the Pink Coin proposal I initiated over three-and-a-half years ago, these are two different objects with straightforward differences: Glow Blocks are portable, whereas Light Blocks are not. Plus, some Light Blocks can be activated by using ? Switches, a trait not shared by Glow Blocks. Given these two major differences, I'd say there's enough merit for a split.
