Mario Party screenshots[edit]

You can lay the blame on me. BabyLuigiFire.pngXiahou Ba(the Nasty Warrior) 18:16, 30 December 2017 (EST)

  • Don't worry, I'm not angry about this. I'll probably throw the guy a bone if I decide to upload any more screenshots, though. (For those reading this and not knowing the context, this is a response to me wondering why a lot of screenshots from Mario Party minigames show Wario in a bad spot, even outright losing.) Keegster2 (talk) 20:02, 30 December 2017 (EST)
Well, some of my screenshots, Wario is actually the guy beating up the other characters. Blame It on the Crane, Surge and Destroy, Bowl Over, and Track Star (minigame) come to mind. I don't actually hate Wario, I just think it's funny to see him in misery. I don't mind you uploading images of him winning at all, I even smile at that. Citation references[edit]

Hey, when inserting and citing foreign names, make sure you add:

==References==
<references/>

Instead of {{reflist}}

Ah, I knew I was doing something wrong, but I couldn't find anything in the manual of style and its related pages on where to put references. Thanks for the help! Keegster2

WarioWare: D.I.Y./D.I.Y. Showcase downloadable microgames[edit]

Hi. I saw that around a month and a half ago now, you added the Japanese names for all of the downloadable NinSoft microgames that were available for WarioWare: D.I.Y. and WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase. Thanks a lot for that! Since then, though, I've been looking over all of the same microgames with @Mosgis, who is a native Japanese speaker. Mosgis has pointed out several mistakes in your translations for the Japanese names, which I've made an effort to rectify (I personally don't fault you for this, since you admitted your Japanese knowledge is somewhat limited). I noticed you also pointed out a couple visual differences between the Japanese and international versions of the microgames in your edit summaries, such as for Ladies' Man, which we ended up discovering ourselves independently. Anyway, it seems like you've since moved on to some degree after adding all the NinSoft games' Japanese names, but if you don't mind answering, I have a couple questions. Were the ones you mentioned in your edit summaries (Matching Man, Sumo Robots!, Ladies' Man and Fan Boys) the only ones you discovered visual differences for outside of Japan? Because Mosgis and I have discovered a couple others (there's an edit for racial sensitivity in ...Surprise! as now documented in that microgame's article, and apparently Bun Blitz was reworked as an ice cream shop microgame called "Serv-ice" in Europe). I assume you didn't look into it that much though? Which leads me into my second question: would you be willing to help us document the other foreign-language names for those microgames (British English, French, German, Italian and Spanish) as well as any other possible visual differences between regional versions? Or have you done all that you're interested in (the Japanese names and visual differences you've noticed). It's fine if so; I was just wondering since you seem to have been one of the only users that was interested in documenting such information as of late. PaperSplash (talk) 02:03, March 31, 2026 (UTC)

Well, thanks a lot for for telling me about this! I'm glad to know that you two have gone over the Japanese microgames yourself and made corrections and new discoveries. Now, about your questions:

  1. Yeah, the differences I pointed out are the only ones I noticed. The only source I had for Japanese names and differences is the one I added to all the pages - the official Japanese site for D.I.Y. As such, I only had a single screenshot per microgame to go with; I was mainly focused with adding the names, but I also decided to add differences I saw between the screenshots used on the D.I.Y. site and the Super Mario Wiki. As you correctly assumed, I didn't go out of my way to look up further info (e.g. YouTube videos of the microgames), since my main priority was just the names.
  2. By "document", do you mean that my role would be to add the info on the microgames' articles? Because if so, I'll happily offer to help! I really love learning stuff about obscure and ephemeral media like this, and being able to share that knowledge with others is an opportunity that would be great to be a part of. If you're asking me to help you guys find the foreign-version info, however, I'd need some time to think it over. I'm not really the type of person who goes out of their way to look stuff up to see what they find; if I stumble across something interesting, I give a look, but I wouldn't actively search for it.

In closing, again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and questions, as well as for you and Mosgis sharing the results of your own research! I'm very happy to see someone reach out and extend an offer like this. Hopefully, we'll work together to document the different versions of these microgames together in the future!
