Two Reminders[edit]

Hello, Drybones345. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded coding is shown below.

{{aboutfile
|1=Subject of the image
|2=Where you found the image
|3=Artist
|4=Describe edits, if any
|5=Other versions (use file link)
}}

Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line of the variable(s) you don't use. If you do not wish to use the template at all, then it is acceptable to simply remove it before you upload the file. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Hello, Drybones345. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:

Images Audio/video files

When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use:

[[Category:Super Mario World images]]
or
[[Category:Super Mario World media files]]

Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing.

Several things were not handled properly with File:WWSM GW Audience.jpg

  • Bad file name. It was changed for you by moving the file.
  • {{aboutfile}} was not filled out.
  • The license was not specified.
  • The image was not categorized correctly.
  • The page that links to the image, frame wasn't appropriate to use and it was in a bad spot. I changed it to thumb and changed it to appear on the right instead.

I hope this gives you better direction what we want from you if you decide to upload images. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:10, 22 September 2016 (EDT)

Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You did the same things again, but with File:WWMPG Mr GW.jpg. Also, there were some edit conflicts on Mr. Game & Watch so I corrected those.

Please consider MarioWiki:Manual of Style. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:02, 26 September 2016 (EDT)

Lastwarn.svg
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You ignored my previous two requests about this issue, with File:ListenToTheDoctor.png missing Category:WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$! Images, but you did use thumb instead of frame. AfternoonLight (talk) had to rename the file while I had to fix the content. Do this one more time, I will get a sysop involved. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 13:57, 27 September 2016 (EDT)

This has been rather frustrating and tiresome to get you to improve your contributions to MarioWiki, specifically with images. MarioWiki:Image use policy has general guidelines. It is a whole lot easier if you create a file link first on the page you wish to add an image to. This will create a red link, which is desirable. The file link can be whatever name you want. Click that red link and it will take you to Special:Upload with a file name already filled in. Do what you would do normally with uploading by selecting the image for upload and clicking upload. Just be sure to follow what is in the blue and green boxes above. Don't forget to select the license. That way, the file name will be appropriate. I have included an example what you should see to the right. If you have a new version of an upload (such as a higher quality version), instead of having File:ListenTotheDoctor.png, File:Maxresdefault (2).jpg, File:ListenToTheDoctor.png for the same image, you can click on an already existing image by clicking upload a new version of this file in the file history section of the file page. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 15:11, 28 September 2016 (EDT)

Since you are new here, you have to be open to people giving you advice how to best do things here if you make mistakes. I didn't get any of that from you. If you need free editing without getting reprimanded, use MarioWiki:Sandbox. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) (Stats - Contribs) 13:43, 29 September 2016 (EDT)

Hey[edit]

Wildgoosespeeder is telling you how to improve your contributions. No one is bossing you around, you're just being asked to follow the rules. Consider this an informal last warning. --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 15:53, 30 September 2016 (EDT)
