Layers of Antagonism[edit]

I beg your pardon, but saying that a certain boss is the "Quinary" or "Quaternary" anagonist is far too in-depth, and more importantly, is subjective, as people could have differing opinions regarding the magnitude of each one's role. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 21:13, 30 August 2017 (CT)

Warning.svg
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (still using the antagonist terms shown above) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site.
If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

You are still continuing to use the terms already described above and then some on articles. If you don't stop this behaviour of yours, you will be either given one last warning or possibly even temporarily banned from editing this here wiki. Thanks! – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 17:46, 3 September 2017 (EDT)

Sorry. I won't use those terms again. Thanks for the reminder. Aidanpercussion (talk) 22:18, 3 September 2017 (EDT)

Final warning.[edit]

Lastwarn.svg
This is your last warning. The next time you break the rules in any way, you will be blocked from editing the Super Mario Wiki.
If you feel this last warning was undeserved, you may appeal it.

Even though you promised to not use the antagonist terms, you are still using them alongside TV Tropes lingo. It's not too late to fix your mistakes. If you don't start improving, you'll be banned from editing temporarily. – Owencrazyboy9 (talk) 22:30, 3 September 2017 (EDT)

I pored over your contributions and we're not going to ban anyone for merely using Big Words unless there's a constant history of using distracting or incorrect purple prose [which to be fair, the obsessive use of "quinary" or "quartenary" falls uncomfortably close to the former] but what I will say is that your entire history consist of adding "Bad guy character is a positional adjective villain", and one instance of calling Bowser a "big bad", which is cutesy TV Tropes jargon that clash badly with the enecyclopedic style the wiki aims for, and somehow manages to be an even more useless and obvious insert.

It's low-effort, useless additions. Mario plots aren't so complex and extensives that you need to grade the bad guys after the priamry and secondary antangonists. If the only thing you can think of adding to a page is "Bad guy is [adjectival order] bad guy", please don't bother. --Glowsquid (talk) 22:57, 3 September 2017 (EDT)

What am I doing? I don't mean anything bad and feel remorseful. Aidanpercussion (talk) 23:06, 4 September 2017 (EDT)

Just to make sure, which terms shouldn't I be using? Aidanpercussion (talk) 23:15, 15 September 2017 (EDT)

Anything to do with layers of antagonism. That includes "Quinary," "Quaternary," anything from TVTropes ("The Big Bad," "The Bigger Bad," "The Heavy," etc.), things like that. Especially about non-sapient quartets of Triceratops. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:20, 15 September 2017 (EDT)

You still seem to be having trouble with this, though with a slightly different but related problem. A "main" antagonist is someone that causes trouble for the protagonist throughout the game. In Super Mario Sunshine, Bowser Jr. is the main antagonist, not Bowser. The enemy that is only seen and fought at the end of games would not be a main antagonist (I said "penultimate" in my edit summary, but I don't think that was correct). Thank you. Aidanpercussion (talk) 20:26, 12 December 2017 (EST)

Actually, yeah, I used that right. Megabug is the penultimate boss, followed by MegaDragonBowser. Neither of them are main antagonists though, just the final ones. Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 20:28, 12 December 2017 (EST)

To repeat what's been said to you above, a majority of your contributions has consisted of ranking antagonists by their degree of prominence in the game, some of which have been questionable and incorrect. I strongly encourage you to contribute to other aspects of the wiki; classifying bosses by order of antagonism in games where it's clear a set order was never intended in the first place is unnecessary and quite frankly adds little to nothing to the article. I also don't feel this is something that warrants an immediate ban, but there are consequences (especially considering you're on a last warning) if the information being added is consistently inaccurate and causing others having to constantly revert them because of that. If you're having doubts about the validity of your edits (as I've noticed you've even had some problems with the terms you're using), simply work on something else. By the way, you get banned for two weeks if you get blocked the first time. Don't be emboldened by this, because getting blocked in the first place is not a good thing, but just a heads-up for you to think about. Lcrossmk8 (talk) 22:57, 15 December 2017 (EST)
