Hello there, 'Shroom readers! The Awards Ceremony has come and gone, and all I have to say is wow. I've been attending the ceremonies for several years now, and I have to say I think this was the best one I've seen - not just in the creativity and quality displayed in the presentations, the energy and camaraderie of this community was off the charts as well! It truly is something special being here and making stuff with all of you wonderful people. If you weren't able to see it live, you can still check out the presentations over on the Mario Boards, and do consider hanging out with us for next year's festivities! You won't regret it, I promise!

In paper news, I'm excited to officially announce the next 'Shroom event - and you have the opportunity to help shape it! We'll be hosting a Scavenger Hunt in Issue 223, and to coincide with Halloween, you'll be hunting ghosts across the issue! Hmm... These ghosts look a little familiar, though... If you've contributed a section to The 'Shroom between Issue 209 (August 2024) and Issue 222 (September 2025), inclusive, you're eligible to contribute a specter for the hunt! That also means if you haven't written in the past year, you still have the chance to get in by submitting something for next month's issue. Check out the forum thread for more info on the event, including how to sign up! Even if you don't sign up, the Scavenger Hunt will be available for all readers when it goes live in October (so to speak).

Enjoy the issue!

OH MY GOSH was that a fantastic Awards ceremony or what?! I'm happy to have been a part of it AND I got to see lots of crazy awesome presentations too! The celebration may be over, but now we gotta make sure 2026 is ever better than this year's! Can we achieve that? Of course we can; we're the Mario Wiki community after all!

It's been over a month since July's Issue! I managed to snag myself a digital copy of Streets of Rage 4 - the game's a blast and it's essential for those who love beat-em-ups! July 25th also marked the first anniversary of Kingdom Rush Alliance! Did any of you see the upcoming "Wukong's Journey" DLC by the way? Probably not, but I'm hyped and will play that when it releases on September 25! Oh man that's so far from now, but I waited this long, so I can handle another month... hopefully. Apparently there's also something arriving September 4? I have no clue what it is, but everyone's looking forward to that day!

Everyone was focused on making sure the Awards were at their best, but we still have some guest sections! Waluigi enthusiast ClawgripFan9001 and Spotlight co-manager Technetium (talk) really outdid themselves with with what they've written, and Boo1268 published the script for the "M5. Favorite Enemy" Award from the ceremony!

  • ClawgripFan9001...
    • wrote a News Flush in Fake News about how Glitzville's juice shop broke financial records with profit unheard of! How did Mr. Podler accomplish such a task?
    • Provided a Sport Report detailing the epic baseball game between the Waluigi Spitballs and the Luigi Knights! Make sure you have an appropriately-themed snack while you read this!
  • As for Technetium, she's created an AU (alternate universe) themed around Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door titled The Crystal Star Spirits! Take a look at what would've happened if the Crystal Stars were sentient beings like the Star Spirits, complete with pixelated sprites of them!
  • Boo1268, TheBlueCatMenace, DryBonesBandit (talk) and Legend 8 all collaborated to bring us the "Favorite Enemy" Award last week. They've all decided to publish the script for it in Palette Swap, going under the title Mavero the Hammer Bros' Revenge! Looks like someone's mad about the removal of the "Worst Enemy" Award! If you haven't yet seen the presentation or don't have a Mario Boards account, now's your chance!

Enjoy the post-Awards Issue to your heart's content! Now I have to prepare for September's Issue... only 3 weeks until then!
