The 'Shroom:Issue 178/Directorial Address
Hello there, everyone! This is Ninja Squid (talk), your newly elected Director, and alongside Waluigi Time (talk), we will be the ones leading The 'Shroom throughout 2022.
To begin with, we must first thank you all for your support during the Director Election. We are absolutely grateful that you are allowing us the opportunity of leading the community newspaper this year. Thanks to our fair share of experiences in various sectors of the community, we are confident in our abilities to meet your expectations, and we will do everything we can to make sure your trust in us was deserved. Our commitment is to make of 2022 a fun year for The 'Shroom, and that the newspaper can continue to grow under our leadership! We also want to extend our thanks to Hooded Pitohui (talk) and Roserade (talk) for their support during the election, by giving us various advices and inputs, and for their help in ensuring a smooth transition for us.
As we take office, we will be overseeing one staff change. TPG (talk) is stepping down from the Graphic Design Manager position as of this issue. A public application process will be opened to find a replacement starting today. Make sure to read the application thread here for more information regarding the process, and if you think that you are up to the job, make sure to apply! The replacement will be announced during Issue 179 in February. We would like to thank TPG for his phenomenal work while in the position and for making the necessary art assets we need as we take office. If he wishes to, we would like to give him an invitation to stay on as a Staff Consultant.
Aside from this, all of the other current staffers will be returning next term. We are immensely happy to keep them on board, as they are valuable members, and their experience will be a major asset for the newspaper in the coming term. Thank you very much!
One thing I want to clarify is that, while I am becoming your Director, I will continue to serve as your Statistics Manager as well. This means that nothing will change regarding the application process. If you wish to sign up and write for the newspaper, you will still have to send me your application in the future, unless you wish to write a News Flush for Fake News or a Review for Critic Corner. If that is the case, you simply have to send them right away to Doomhiker (talk) and Hypnotoad (talk) respectively. We are very much looking forward to what we will be able to accomplish during the next term, and while we are having high expectations, we cannot simply do that without all of your help. If you wish to write for the newspaper, or you are still hesitating, feel free to contact us. We will be delighted to have you among our big family of writers!
To conclude, we are looking forward to making this a fantastic year for the newspaper, and at making it a fun experience for everyone involved. So please, come and join us!
