Is there something wrong with this template? It shows up very weird on articles, as seen here, as the coding can be seen on it, and float right" can be seen above it. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 22:48, 26 May 2017 (EDT)

Deprecate the MKDD kart infobox template

This infobox is a variant of {{kart infobox}} with very little justifying its own existence.

• It is (as of writing) only used in ten kart pages out of Mario Kart: Double Dash!!''s 21 total karts, a number that is likely to decrease as these karts return in future games.
• The speed, weight and acceleration parameters are stats which basically every other Mario Kart game already has, and are already covered under our current kart infobox in an alternative way. Although they don't have dedicated fields, all that is needed to do is to flip the order of elements and list them by "strong/average/weak" instead of by type. And to top it off, these aren't even all in-game stats, only the ones displayed to the player. Off-road and Mini-turbo stats don't get a single mention here.
• Owner is a bit of a misnomer to begin with. Karts in Double Dash!! are not locked to characters but to a pair's weight class, so displaying the name of the kart's associated character as "kart driver" is weird to me. Regardless, this field is hardly enough to justify an entire infobox, especially when this is already almost always covered within the opening statement of the article anyway.
• Additionally, this infobox is missing key parameters present in the kart infobox, specifically, "variants" and "variant of". The Bloom Coach is an unlockable variant of the Heart Coach. The Rattle Buggy is a variant of the Goo-Goo Buggy and has its own variant in the Purple Rattle Buggy, etc. If these fields were added to this infobox, it becomes even more of a copy of the kart infobox.

Given the relatively low amount of use cases and the overlap in parameters, I propose this infobox be deprecated. All articles which currently use it will have them replaced with {{kart infobox}}. Information about stats will be displayed as it currently is in other kart articles, and the kart's associated character will be mentioned in the opening paragraph if it isn't already. If the Oppose option wins, then "variants" and "variant of" will be added to this infobox instead.

This proposal acts as a first step towards a future proposal concerning the use of the kart infobox in general. For this reason, I don't want to get into the merits of displaying the stats/associated character on the kart infobox itself, as I am only concerned in merging this infobox into the other one for easier handling later down the line.
