Merge to the Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis page[edit]
This talk page proposal has already been settled. Please do not edit any of the sections in the proposal. If you wish to discuss the article, do so in a new header below the proposal. |
keep and include information from similar pages 2-0-4
When I expanded the Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem! and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars pages, I also included information about each game's level editor mode as part of these pages. Since it's inconsistent to keep one editor mode split, as in the present case, I believe we should merge this page with the parent article. However, if the merge is decided against, then all the level editor information from the other articles will be split as well, either as their own articles or incorporated here to make one gigantic editor mode family reunion.

Merge page to main article[edit]
- Bye Guy (talk) per proposal
- Toadette the Achiever (talk) Per proposal.
Keep it like this and split similar information from other pages[edit]
Keep it like this and include similar information from other pages into this page[edit]
- JoeRunner (talk) It's a significant part of the game that stands on its own, and this goes for the other games as well. All of the mode's appearances are essentially the same though, so they should be one article.
- TheDarkStar (talk) - Per JoeRunner.
- FanOfYoshi (talk) It's not an alternate version of the game. Per all.
- Power Flotzo (talk) Per all.
Comments[edit]
Does option three mean we would merge information from Construction Zone appearances in other games into this article? (Just making sure.) JoeRunner (talk and stuff) 19:52, November 10, 2019 (EST)
Post-proposal discussion[edit]
I'd like some clarification on the resolution to this proposal. Presumably, the resolution implies merging content from all appearances of the Construction Zone into this specific article, including the Construction Zone in Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis, Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem!, as well as the Workshop from Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, due to its similarity to the Construction Zone mode. However, does the merge also include the Create & Share mode from Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, or does that warrant its own separate article, due to its differences in gameplay with other titles in the series? Also, how much information about each game should be merged into this article? Should the most detailed analysis be reserved for each game's respective game article, with a more broad overview being used for the Construction Zone article, or vice versa? --ThePowerPlayer (talk) 12:03, July 21, 2022 (EDT)
- The consensus is to have all information on each game's Construction Zone mode merged into this one article, on the basis that it is a significant, extensive, and recurring enough subject to warrant an article on itself. I imagine the mode would be documented in a "History" section, i.e. relevant information, including that related to the Create & Share mode, is listed by game, and the original game articles would have a brief summary of their Construction Zones since it is encyclopedic practice to do so. Trying to overlap information based on shared features and describing distinct features in each game on the side would lend to a sloppy job, in my opinion. -- KOOPA CON CARNE 12:50, July 21, 2022 (EDT)
