Move[edit]

Shouldn't this page be moved to Fury Bowser?

They're unique objects and there's more than enough information here for its own article, so I would say no. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 17:34, September 14, 2021 (EDT)

Identifier[edit]

Shouldn't this be "Falling spike (Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury)"? That is the actual title of the game that it appears in, as reflected in the infobox. This also applies to Lighthouse (Bowser's Fury). Game identifiers should be the unabbreviated game title, not a mode title. For what it's worth, Timer Gate was called "Gate (Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury)" before the current title was found, so there's precedent for it. i don't think the fact that it is not a standalone commercial product precludes Bowser's Fury from being "a game". this identifier is more informative and more compact, and i don't see a good reason to throw that away on a technicality. — eviemaybe Tanooki Mario's tail, cropped (talk) 01:58, February 13, 2026 (UTC)
I think in this context, being a standalone product should be a requirement for being considered a "game", because there's really no other objective way to distinguish "games" from "modes". I don't think the current identifier is more informative, in fact I'd argue it's a bit misleading since it implies that Bowser's Fury is an actual standalone game. It's also not in line with the current naming policy that encourages accuracy over compactness ("do not use game abbreviations"). I feel like you're going to get a "change the policy" answer. I don't believe identifiers being based on a modes should be off limits. In fact, they can be very useful at times. For instance, Drumstick (Bowser Jr.'s Journey) would be a worse page if it were instead "Drumstick (Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey)" for perfect adherence to current policy, because it would create a non-zero amount of confusion with the Drumstick suite from Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story that Bowser uses (Hot Drumstick and friends). If we had a second Iron Hammer item in Super Mario Party Jamboree, I think people would be more willing to move Iron Hammer (item) to "Iron Hammer (Bowser Kaboom Squad)" than use other hypothetical identifiers like color or role. We did make a proposal to avoid using system names in identifiers, even if the lack of a system name could theoretically confuse the reader. (i.e, Gold Medal (Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) is not in the game which is covered under the article Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door) So we don't hold infinite reverence for making sure an article's identifier has maximum clarity. As for using a mode name being the first port of call (of Determining the identifier)... I feel like I should wait to formulate that opinion until the proposal arrives. It's true that mode identifiers aren't unheard of (Mushroom Kingdom (Adventure Mode) is another example) but they're lower priority than game identifiers, so they shouldn't be used in a case like this where this is the only subject in the game with the name "Falling spike" (unlike in those examples). My actual goal isn't to make sure identifiers have maximum clarity necessarily, but to ensure that game identifiers accurately reflect the actual title of the game, which is consistent with the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door example. I agree with Salmancer on changing the policy. — Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 00:35, February 17, 2026 (UTC)
