Giant Unbaba is a giant dangerous Blargg in the Mario & Wario manga of the Super Mario Kodansha series. It is based after the background Blargg in Honō no Dōkutsu in Mario & Wario.
While identical to a normal Blargg, beside the giant size, the Giant Unbaba is dangerous because of its fire aura: it is so potent that bodies of water immediately dries out, green pastures are turned to deserts, and with more damage it can even lead to the end of the world. Because of this, the Fairies (including Chiyōrō-sama) put the monster to sleep in the icy lagoon beneath Yosu Ko. Of the Blargg, only a distant photo capturing the elusive monster was left, turning the lake into a turistic attraction.
Many years later, Wario throws Mario, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Wanda in the underground lagoon. Soon enough the heroes start to freeze, so Wanda uses her wand to evoke a Fire Flower. Scared by the Komorin, Wanda dropped the wand on Mario, turning him into Fire Mario, saving him from freezing into an ice cube. Seeing the Blargg on the bottom of the lagoon, Mario used his fire powers to wake him up. Just as it awakes, the Blargg turns the lagoon into a volcano, letting the heroes escape from the ice and the cave. Chiyōrō-sama appears, informing them of the impeding doom they caused.
To solve this, Chiyōrō-sama suggests using the Tottemo Oishikute Hoppe ga Ochite Shimau Kinomi in Fairy Land and use its water properties to defeat the Giant Unbaba, whose flames are being enlarged by Wario, pouring petrol on the monster.
After obtaining the fruit, Yoshi gulps it and flies straight into the Giant Unbaba's mouth. Eating him and the mouth-watering nut, the Giant Unbaba's flames die and so does the monster after its skin dries and falls off its bones. With that, the world is saved.

Notes[edit]
- Super Mario-kun also gave the background Blargg of Honō no Dōkutsu and important, albeit less destructive, role, as the guardian of the cave and the mind behind its curse, which turns the victims into Tsubōn.
