Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups: Images Audio/video files Company images Film images Game images Merchandise images Publication images System images Television series images Website images Company media files Film media files Game media files Merchandise media files Publication media files System media files Television series media files Website media files When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]] or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. Also, you'll notice the images didn't show up when you made this edit because they weren't added properly. Help:Gallery and Help:Image explains how to add images to galleries and standalone images respectively (gallery images don't need the square brackets, "File:" and "thumb").

Finally, audio files should be uploaded as "oga", not "ogg" (if you accidentally uploaded as "ogg", you can simply rename the file by clicking the "move" tab at the top of the file page). The music files you uploaded already exist on the course articles (under the infobox's "Music" tab) anyway; in such situations, you only need to click on the "Upload a new version of this file" link on the existing file's page to replace it. This is also how you add the music files to the media tables.

I'm seeing one in the beginning of your userbox tower. Right before "This user is an intermediate gamer". If you want to easily locate some text, you can use Ctrl + F to "find" text. Oh also, type one more indent if you're replying! So if I reply with one colon, you reply with two colons, and I'll respond with three, and so on. If it gets too much, people generally do start with one colon again.

Game titles

Hello, NatsMinecraft! Thanks for your contributions. When writing titles for media like games, films, TV shows, and publications, please remember to italicize them. This is done by placing two straight apostrophes (not quotation marks or curly apostrophes) on both sides of the title, or clicking on the I icon above the text box and typing out the title. For example, typing out ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' generates Super Mario Bros.

Also, please don't capitalise every word in a sentence. Only proper nouns (names like "Mario", "Goomba" etc.) and the first word of the sentence should be capitalised.

Regarding your last upload, the correct category link is [[Category:Merchandise images]], the same way you do it for previous image and media uploads, not {{Merchandise}} Mario JC 00:42, April 26, 2022 (EDT)

Editing archived pages

While the page you're editing, MarioWiki:BJAODN/Unfeature/Yoshi's Island DS is open, try not to edit what's old, archived pages (check the dates and all) unless for very technical reasons (even so, when in doubt, leave it for the admins) Either way, I'm not sure what you're trying to do from editing the links of one user. Perhaps you were confused from following the links, but just letting you know, that user had a name change along the line, and he's not the only user. That's true, yeah, I went through a few as well. Why did you think it will be better? Make it less confusing for other people keeping track who's who? I get that, but that's why redirects are created after a rename, so people who click on the links of the old name get brought to the pages of the current name and it should clear it up for the most part. RE: Rename

Username change requests go on MarioWiki:Changing username. You need to be registered for at least three months to be eligible for a rename anyway, so you can only get one on or after July 2.

Also, try to avoid uploading images strictly for messaging purposes to the wiki if they're not for articles or personal images; instead, upload to a website like Imgur and link the URL, or don't upload at all if it's not required (you don't need to show proof for a rename, so if you have no use for these photos, they'll be deleted to reduce image clutter). Odyssey Nut article

The page(s) you recently created (Nut (Super Mario Odyssey)) has/have been put up for deletion, has been deleted, or turned into a redirect. This may be because it violated at least one of the policies and/or guidelines of the Super Mario Wiki. There are some things you can do to ensure this doesn't happen again. Make sure there is no other article about the same subject with a different title, especially for conjectural articles. Make sure the article has enough information to make it a worthwhile read (i.e. it does more than state the obvious, such as "Luigi's Mansion is a mansion that is owned by Luigi"). Overly short articles are known as stubs and their creation is strongly discouraged; it is better to amass enough information to make a solid article right off the bat instead. Make sure the article is significant enough in the Super Mario franchise to have its own article.
