The 'Shroom:Issue 140/Staff Notes
Hey everyone! It's November, and wow 2018 just seems to have flown by. I'm gonna lob a friendly reminder that next month, Issue 141, we are theming the holiday special on Super Smash Bros. I implore all of you to send me a guest section for the issue, even if its just your experience with the series, we'd love to know! That doesn't mean there isn't anything special this issue. Please take a look at all of the sections our writers have done, and vote for your favorites! Thank you for supporting us, and please enjoy this issue.
—Meta Knight, Director
Hello, 'Shroom readers! Friendly neighborhood Spider-Chao here, bringing you a ONE-TWO ELECTION PUNCH! This month, we've got the Awards Director Election, where if you want to take on a starring role in the awards next year by being mad enough to direct them? This'll be your chance! And next month we've got the 'Shroom Director Election, which should be actually interesting this year thanks to the fact that... I'm not running! And neither is Meta Knight. That's right, folks, this ticket is stepping out of the spotlight after January 2019. So if you want to take our place (and why
would wouldn't you), next month will be your time to shine!
Staff Section of the Month for October 2018
|STAFF-VOTED SECTION OF THE MONTH
|A good critical review of a popular theory, and we can see flying around the internet often enough, making sure to analyze both the similarities alongside the differences to justify the conclusion given.
|It makes up glad to see this section steadily improving, especially because of the respectable attention to detail and quality.
|Mach Speed Mayhem
|Another well-researched section with a casual and entertaining writing style. It's very informative, touching upon so many aspects of Black Shadow in the F-Zero franchise, and there's clear attention to detail, but the writing style keeps it easy and enjoyable to read.
|Hooded Pitohui (talk)
|The story in this section each month is well-crafted with a defined voice, and is goofy without being overbearing and forced. Quality humor.
|It is a silly section that improve in writing style, formatting, and artwork each time, and we are always looking forward to the next.
|Through a genuinely interesting and informative interview with one of the game's developers and a few very effective images, Alex generates interest in King of the Hat and catches the attention of readers. Alex and melbatoast's interview brings out the most interesting mechanics and components of the game while not overselling it.
