Kāmenētā accepts the job, goes back to the past and gives Mario a hard time. Thanks to his shapeshifting abilities, Kāmenētā attacks Mario, Luigi and Yoshi turning his arm into a gun, then a wind flag, a hammer, and a scythe. Mario and Yoshi try to defeat him but stomping him, but the Kāmenētā quickly recomposes himself (although not correctly at first): Yoshi even tries to pulverize him with a mortar, but Kāmenētā comes back even from that. Trying to escape, Kāmenētā turns into a plane and reaches them, trapping Mario by the cape after pinning it on a wall with his arm turned into a fork. Then, Kāmenētā knocks out Luigi and Yoshi with his enlarged feet and prepares to stab Mario with his other arm turned into a fork, but the Princess Peach from the future sends to Mario the only item capable to destroy a Suppon no Karon: a Super Kōra. With that, Mario destroys the assassin from the future into pieces, from which he will never be able to recompose himself.

Template:Species-infobox The Suppon no Karon (スッポンのカロン, soft-shelled Dry Bones) is a species of Dry Bones in Super Mario-kun that, in the future, evolved to have shapeshifting bones. Only one of them, the Kāmenētā, appears only in volume 5. Its name derives from the Chinese softshell turtle's Japanese name,「スッポン」.

In the future, Bowser has lost his title of king, so he hires a famous Suppon no Karon, the Kāmenētā, to go back to the past and kill Mario, before he defeats him in Super Mario World (the moment he considers the beginning of his downfall). The only item capable of destroying a Suppon no Karon is the Super Kōra, which Princess Peach from the future sends to Mario during his fight with the Kāmenētā.
